She paused, pointing at Riley’s vast outer perimeter. “But your place is different. Your bonfire radius is too huge. That outer ring of wooden walls and low barricades built to protect the natives is too long and too fragile. If we don’t hold the line, the moment it’s breached, those dozens of natives are dead meat. We gotta help you secure the perimeter first.”

Riley nodded. The three of them sprinted shoulder–to–shoulder, rushing toward the camp’s outer defense line in perfect sync.

“Has the system completely lost its mind lately? It’s getting ridiculous,” Riley muttered coldly, sprinting through the snow and feeling the increasingly frantic monster aura around them. “First a monster wave, then the super blizzard, and now this right after. I just hope we can hold them off this time.”

The guild was finally on track. Another monster wave, even if they repelled it, would exact a massive toll.

“This is a Monster Riot,” Pineapple Beer spoke up. “Historically, it means a massive dungeon is about to spawn.”

“A dungeon?” Riley paused for a split second before it clicked.

That completely aligned with her previous theories.

Dungeons and the icefield were separate parallel worlds tethered together by a massive force.

When a dungeon tried to establish a spatial tunnel with the current icefield world, it triggered a violent energy spillover. This chaotic energy heavily stimulated local low–tier monsters, driving them into an indiscriminate, bloodthirsty frenzy.

Based on past experiences, the monster spawn rate always fluctuated before a dungeon drop. They’d faced monsters blindly attacking camps before, though they weren’t exactly this strong.

“If a dungeon is really dropping, why hasn’t the system issued a Server Announcement? None of the recent major events have had any system prompts,” Riley pointed out, catching the blind spot

PineappleBeer went quiet for a moment, a rare look of grim concern flashing in her eyes. “That’s exactly what I’m worried about. If the system isn’t giving prompts, either it’s doing it on purpose, or it’s too overwhelmed to handle it. The current landscape might be in for a drastic upheaval.”

Hearing this, Riley’s expression darkened. Either way, it meant the days ahead were gonna be an absolute bloodbath.

As they spoke, the three of them bypassed the Wood–Stone Row House sector and reached the western edge of the camp.

The sight before them made even Riley, a veteran of deep–tier monster sieges, gasp sharply.

On the pitch–black snowfield, countless eyes flashing with red light or ghostly blue soul–fire intertwined densely, looking like a surging ocean.

Unlike the sluggish Ghouls of the past that only shambled around aimlessly unless they spotted a living person, these monsters were completely blood–crazed. They were swarming toward the nearby structures, frantically clawing at the wooden planks of the barricade.

Thank god they had worked overtime to reinforce all the barricades with extra wooden siding after discovering the Skeleton Archers. Otherwise, the defense line would have already been breached.

“Hold the line! Don’t panic! Thrust your spears out through the gaps!”
