Chapter 478 The Abyssal Watcher
Riley was the absolute source of hope for the natives.

Without the survivors‘ suppressive fire, the endless horde of frenzied monsters was filling the gaps at a visible rate, continuously battering the barricades.
Riley instinctively tried to rush over to help, but her body had completely lost its weight.
As zero–gravity took hold, the world before Riley’s eyes began to warp and stretch.
Thud!
Riley slammed heavily onto solid ground, letting out a muffled grunt.
She rolled to her feet instantly, dual axes in hand, scanning her surroundings on high alert.
It was a long corridor built entirely of dark grey stone blocks. Every dozen yards or so, a magic sconce radiating a sickly green light was embedded in the wall, casting a ghostly, sinister glow over the dim passageway.
“The Dungeon…”
Riley narrowed her eyes, the familiar environment reflecting in her pupils.
She recognized the architecture. She recognized the suffocating, oppressive atmosphere. This was a Dungeon instance. She had met PineappleBeer and TartKing in this exact series of instances, the very place that held PineappleBeer’s darkest trauma.
But it was different from the corridor of the first dungeon cycle in her memory. The passage before her was exceptionally wide, far larger than the original ones. This was likely a much deeper floor.
“Pineapple? Tart?” Riley called out softly, testing the waters.
Her voice merely echoed down the empty hall. No response. No trace of another living soul.
She immediately pulled up her system panel, intending to message the guild channel to verify everyone’s safety.
However, the moment the panel popped up, Riley’s heart sank like a stone.
The entire system interface was greyed out. All communication tools had been brutally severed by the system; there was zero way
to make contact.
“Ruthless,” Riley sneered, swatting the panel closed.
She had no idea if the natives outside were dead or alive, but right now, panicking was completely pointless.
Gripping her axes tight, she silenced her footsteps and proceeded down the corridor.
The air down here was much warmer than the snowfield above; Riley actually found it a bit stifling.
After advancing about 200 yards, the passage opened up into a small, circular hall.

Chapter 478 The Abyssal Watcher
Standing dead center in the hall was a massive figure.

It was a knight completely encased in heavy bronze armor. But it had no head; where its neck should be, a ball of pitch–black flame burned wildly. It was dragging a greatsword.nearly seven feet long, the blade scraping against the stone floor and emitting a teeth- grinding screech.
“Abyssal Watcher (Elite)”
The split second Riley stepped into the hall, the black flame ared. The headless knight seemed to lock onto her, dragging its greatsword as it charged forward with a jerky, jarring, yet terrifyingly fast gait.
Dungeon mob. Riley deduced instantly. She had fought similar variants in the dungeon before; it was nothing new to her.
This monster, however, was several leagues stronger than the standard Ghouls and skeleton guards she encountered during her
first dive.
But Riley was a far cry from the rookie she used to be.
Whoosh!
The knight’s greatsword cleaved through the air in a horizontal sweep, trying to slice Riley in half at the waist.
Riley didn’t block it. Leaning on her insane agility stat, she bent backward slightly. The greatsword missed her nose by a fraction of an inch, bringing a gust of putrid wind.
The exact second the swing lost its momentum, Riley kicked off hard with her right foot, launching herself low across the ground and instantly closing the gap.
She channeled her power into her wrists. The blade of her right axe wedged flawlessly into the armor gap at the knight’s wrist, twisting violently, while the left axe blurred into a streak of blue fight, chopping viciously into the seemingly impenetrable breastplate.
