LoneWolf let out a cold snort and picked up the thread. “Three of them, average gear assassinated a Priest in their backline. Hanna tied up the other two with her skills, and we finished them off with a bit of elbow grease. That’s where we scored the comms cards from their loot drop and managed to ping Nobody and the others”
“What happened next?” Riley asked
“We kept exploring and popping comms cards to pull people in. Guild members on the same floor started rallying toward our position.” Hanna pointed at Beagle, Desk, Ketchup, and Fly.
“Lone Wolf and I had it easy. Desk and Fly got put through the wringer. A cross–server squad hunted them like dogs for over half an
hour.”
Beagle offered a bitter smile and shook his head. “If I wasn’t so lucky, and if Desk wasn’t such a beast at holding the line until Hanna showed up, we’d be dead meat right now.”
He was endlessly thankful he had joined Hope Guild, a community that actually gave a damn about its people.
Ketchup chimed in next. “I got this pointer leading to the market off a blind bat freak I killed. After we grouped up, we figured we’d check this place out, catch our breath, and then figure out how to find the rest.”
Riley listened and gave a slow nod.
It matched her expectations perfectly.
Without overwhelming combat power, a squad of average players like Hanna’s was surviving purely in the margins on the eighth floor. The fact that they relied on teamwork and extreme caution to make it this far, let alone locate the market, was seriously impressive.
“Boss, you said you didn’t have any comms cards, right?” Hanna remembered something, digging into her inventory and pulling out two faintly glowing cards, handing them to Riley. “We still have a couple left. Give them a shot, see if you can raise the Vice- Leaders.”
LoneWolf and Beagle nodded eagerly, pulling out their own spare comms cards and sliding them over. They understood the trio’s tactical importance to the guild better than anyone.
Riley didn’t stand on ceremony and took the cards.
This was exactly what she needed right now.
Riley activated a comms card without a second thought.
A flash of light, and a system interface popped up in her vision.

She quickly scrolled through the guild roster, found PineappleBeer’s ID, and tried to establish a connection.
But the ID remained greyed out. Total silence.
She swapped over to Tartking.
Still nothing.

Watching Riley’s face darken, the atmosphere around the table grew heavy,
Honestly, Hanna and the crew weren’t surprised. They had tried pinging the guild brass early on and got nothing but dead air
‘Still no luck?” Hanna asked carefully
“No.” Riley shook her head, picking up her cup and taking another sip. “Like you said, they’re either too far away on a different loor, or they just don’t have the cards.”
Riley’s brain ran the math rapidly.
Siven PineappleBeer and Tartking’s combat power, even if they ran into cross–server hit squads, grinding out a few comms cards rom loot drops was a walk in the park. If they couldn’t be reached now, the most likely scenario was that they simply weren’t on Floor 8.
