Riley lowered her right hand, casually flashing a tactical hand signal by her side.

Beagle and the rest might not have had the seasoned combat instincts of the frontline trio, but their combat discipline had skyrocketed during this trial by fire.

The second they saw the signal, their faces remained completely blank. They silently unholstered their light crossbows and primed their throwing items, shifting their footing slightly to lock into a defensive formation anchored entirely around Riley.

In the ambusher’s assumed blind spot, the sevenman squad was already fully armed and waiting.

They pushed forward another twenty yards, hitting the absolute narrowest section of the Corridor of Bones, where the walls of skeletal remains were packed the tightest.

Do it!! Shut the doors, don’t let a single one slip away!

A savage, roaring command violently shattered the dead silence of the corridor.

With that scream, deafening explosions ripped through the ceiling ahead of and behind them!

BOOM! BOOM!

Two rows of massive, thighthick, bleached bone spikes slammed down from the rocky ceiling with the force of thunderbolts, acting like the bars of a colossal prison cell. They smashed brutally into the ground, burying themselves deep into the boneshard floor!

Both their path forward and their retreat were instantly, completely sealed by impregnable cages of bone!

Simultaneously, dozens of concealed compartments snapped open along the pale skeletal walls on both sides.

Thwipthwipthwipthwip!

The shrieking of slicing air erupted. Dozens of cold arrows rained out from the walls like a torrential downpour, arcing at vicious, calculated angles straight for the sevenman squad.

Trailing right behind the arrow volley were several alchemical spheres hurled with brutal force. The spheres shattered on impact, instantly vomiting massive plumes of thick, dark purple smoke. It wasn’t just suffocatingly pungent; it completely stripped away all visibility in the corridor in the blink of an eye!

Hahahaha! Finally caught you! You’re not going anywhere now!

An incredibly arrogant, mocking voice boomed from high up on a protruding stone ledge positioned above the forward bone cage.

Through the smoke, the silhouette of a massive man, standing nearly seven feet tall, became visible. He was shirtless, his torso covered in grotesque tattoos, and he was staring down at the toxic smoke zone like a king.

He had a ridiculously oversized serrated greatsword slung over his shoulder, a smug, sadistic grin plastered across his face.

His name was MadBone. Since entering the dungeon, he had leveraged his ruthless brutality to quickly absorb over twenty desperate cutthroats, using his original guild members as the core. They formed the Hound Alliance. They set up ambushes at key chokepoints, using intel, prelaid hightier traps, and sheer numbers to butcher stragglers and any squads that looked off guard. Riley’s squad had been marked by his scouts the second they hit the market.

To him, this sevenman squadled by two women and lacking any real heavy hitterswas just a purebred fat sheep stuffed to the bursting point with premium loot.

Listen up down there!MadBonviolently slammed his serrated greatsword down onto the stone ledge, shaking loose a shower of bone dust. Strip off your storage gear right now! Every item you bought in the market, every weapon you’re holdingthrow it ail out through the gaps in the bars!

MadBone spat into the pit, his tone dripping with absolute arrogance. I’m in a good mood today! If you play nice and hand over everything, I might just feel merciful and let you keep your miserable lives! You can crawl back to the snowfield and beg for scraps! If you don’t play smartyou see those bones on the walls? That’s you tomorrow!

Before MadBone even finished his villain monologue, several ghostlike black silhouettes were already creeping silently along the edges of the toxic smoke.

They were three highagility assassins from the Hound Alliance. Wearing rebreathers and using the smoke as cover, they didn’t even wait for Riley’s squad to answer. They bared their poisoned daggers, aiming to harvest a few heads in the chaos to establish absolute dominance.

In their minds, the two women leading the pack might have had a strong aura, but after being blanketed by that arrow volley, they were definitely severely wounded, if not already dead.

Two of the assassins locked onto Hanna.

Die, sheep!A bloodthirsty glint flashed in one assassin’s eyes as he drove his dagger straight for Hanna’s throat.
