Chapter 363 The Bell Hall nuance

Chapter 563 The Bell Hall Entrance

Riley walked under a line of hanging stone bells when soft scraping sounds drifted down from above.

She stopped short and looked up.

Several palm-sized copper bugs clung to the insides of the bell openings. Their bodies were made of broken copper shards, with a tiny bell core right in the middle. One bug had already woken up, its core buzzing gently.

Bell Bugs.

Riley pulled a scrap of cloth from her bag, wrapped it around a small stone, and tossed it upward.

The cloth dulled the noise completely. The stone hit a broken hanging chain deacon.

The chain swayed and let out a faint scrape.

All the Bell Bugs turned toward the sound and crawled over to check it out.

Riley took the chance and darted straight underneath.

She ran fast.

Insanely fast.

On every floor before this, she’d always had to hold back. She had to watch the team, care for the injured, and keep the formation steady.

Now she only had one thing to do.

No stops for commands, no slowing down for the group.

Her speed boost was still active, and her Polar Walker Boots kept her balanced on the rough, broken ground.

She hopped over floor cracks and slipped through the shadows of broken bells. When she ran into thick copper wire zones she couldn’t bypass, she waited for the bell’s quiet interval, then sprinted across clean stone in one quick burst.

She passed a blue loot chest halfway hidden by the wall, guarded by just two Bell Bugs.

On a normal run, Riley would’ve stopped to open it without hesitation.

This time, she only glanced and kept moving.

After ten more minutes of rushing, the landmarks PineappleBeer described finally showed up.

A massive main corridor stretched out ahead.

Giant stone bells hung upside down along both sides. Most had cracked, damaged openings with heavy chains dangling out. The ground was covered in a tight web of copper wires, save for one narrow clear stone path right down the middle.

It was barely wide enough for a single person.

Ahe tear path was only half a body wide. She had to stay perfectly centered to avoid touching the wires on either side

Midway through her run she heard the familiar scrape of a Hollow Shell Patrol from the right side tunnet.

She glanced over and saw one step out into the side hall, its hollow head locked right on the train path.

Riley didn’t slow down.

She pushed faster instead.

The patrol picked up on her movement, and the broken bell in its chest started trembling.

Riley pulled a regular crossbow boltand fired it at a broken bell on the opposite side.

The bolt stuck into the bell’s inner wall with a dull thud.

The Hollow Shell Patrol swiveled toward the noise at once.

Using that split-second distraction, Riley bolted the rest of the way across the main corridor. She jumped over a fallen bell base and landed safely in a side passage.

The broken bell rattled behind her, but nothing came after her.

She kept pressing forward.

Her comms card lit up again, with a message from PineappleBeer.

[PineappleBeer: Did you reach the main hanging bell corridor yet?

[SpicyBurger: Just passed it.]

TartKing messaged right after.

[TartKing: Keep going! You’ll see three half-buried stone bells, and the left one has no clapper. The dungeon entrance is right behind them. We’re already inside. Your signal might cut out soon. Whatever you do, don’t touch the central stone platform}

[SpicyBurger: Got it.]

Riley stowed her comms card and rushed through the last stretch of the side passage.

The space suddenly opened up wide.

It was a semicircular front court ringed with broken bell structures and stone pillars. The ground sat a little lower than the corridors. The walls had almost no copper wires, but were covered in dense, overlapping bell carvings.

Three huge stone bells jutted half out of the ground.

The left bell had no clapper. Its opening tilted toward the floor, like something had hollowed it out forcefully.

The middle bell was split straight down the center, the crack running all the way from top to bottom.
