“Your team grouped up really fast. Seems everyone landed on the lower floors. We spawned on Floor 10, and we didn’t run into a single person from Hope Guild until we got our advanced comms cards.”

Riley put her comms card away. “It’s not really a proper regroup. I just picked up teammates along the way.”

TartKing snickered. “So you’re basically running a dungeon rescue squad now?”

Riley shot her a glance. “You still think this is funny?”

TartKing quickly clamped her mouth shut, but her eyes still crinkled with amusement.

She had a naturally sweet look, with a soft, warm tone to her voice. But here in the Silent Bell Hall, with a greatsword on her back and a staff at her waist, she looked tough and capable- nothing like a delicate healer.

Riley stared at her for a second and asked, “How did you two end up stuck here anyway? I thought you were pushing toward Floor 15.”

Pineapple Beer and TartKing exchanged a look.

TartKing let out an awkward cough. “It’s kinda embarrassing.”

Pineapple Beer said plainly, “We messed up in a hurry.”

Riley raised an eyebrow. “You make mistakes?”

Pineapple Beer pushed her hood back a little. Her eyes were still calm and cool, but way less tense than before.

“Everyone does.”

She paused and then added, “Especially when someone’s running beside me, going on about how you’d panic if you found out we went missing.”

TartKing turned to her immediately. “I was just telling the truth!”

Pineapple Beer kept her tone casual. “And then you almost stepped on a copper wire.”

“I didn’t step on it!” TartKing argued.

“Only because I grabbed you before you could.”

“Well, I pulled you back later too.”

“You grabbed me because you were about to get teleported away.”

Riley watched their little bickering match. Her face stayed neutral, but she finally felt at ease.

Feeling Riley’s eyes on her, Tart King finally gave a full explanation.

“We really were heading for Floor 15. After the Floor 13 teleport, we two landed close by and found each other right away. Comms were super unstable back then, so we couldn’t reach anyone else. We had no choice but to keep moving forward.”

Pineapple Beer picked up the story. “Floor 13 is massive, and the monsters hunt by sound. We avoided every fight we could and kept a steady pace. We reached the main hall with all the hanging stone bells and spotted these super thin copper lines on the wall, like leftover trap

wires.”

“They were so tiny,” TartKing cut in. “They stayed dark most of the time and only flickered for a second after a bell rang. We thought we just needed to walk around them. Then a Hollow Shell Patrol showed up out of nowhere.”

Pineapple Beer corrected her softly. “It didn’t spawn. It just turned the corner.”

“Either way, it came straight for us,” TartKing insisted.

Pineapple Beer nodded. “Yeah, it came.”

“We stepped back to get away,” TartKing said. “Turns out those thin lines weren’t traps. They were teleport wires. Pine brushed against one first, and I lunged to pull her back. Next thing we knew, we were both sucked into the Silent Bell Hall entrance.”

PineappleBeer clarified. “To be exact, the teleport wire caught me first. She jumped to grab me, and we both got pulled inside together.”

TartKing mumbled quietly, “I couldn’t just let you get dragged off alone.”

Pineapple Beer glanced at her.

“Alright. Thanks, then.”

Tart King quickly kept talking. “But once we got in here, we realized this place isn’t a death trap. It’s just annoying. No NPCs, no hints, and every wrong move spawns monsters. We tried rushing through the puzzles to get out fast, but the more we solved, the weirder it got. Doing
