Chapter 567 Cracking the Five-Bell Code
Chapter 567 Cracking the Five-Bell Code
It followed roughly the same logic as the three-line door puzzle.
“The five-line door needs five matching reference points to unlock.”

PineappleBeer nodded. “We thought that too. But the five-line copper shard has no marker dots, just five plain lines.”
TartKing gestured at the stone door. “There are five short lines carved on the ground in front of it, all different lengths. We tried matching line length to bell size, and line direction to bell gaps. Neither worked at all.”
Riley turned to look at the door.
It was pretty short, with five faint lines etched into the ground right before it.
From a distance, they just looked like random scratches.
Up close though, every line ended with a tiny, subtle curve.
The shapes looked exactly like the gentle arcs of a swinging pendulum.
Riley crouched down.
“Did you guys try sorting them by length?”
TartKing nodded. “We did.”
“Shortest to longest?”
“Tried that too.”
“We also went longest to shortest,” PineappleBeer added. “Both attempts spawned trap mobs.”
Riley asked, “What about the direction of the curves?”
TartKing froze for a second.
PineappleBeer also leaned down to study the lines carefully.
They’d noticed the curves before, but the hall was covered in clues-bell gaps, floor grooves, platform carvings, door markings all mixed together. It was easy to fixate on the obvious details and miss these tiny subtle cues.

TartKing squatted down beside her right away.

“First curves left, second and third curve right, fourth dips down… and the fifth one barely seems to curve at all.”
PineappleBeer walked around to the other side and checked from the shadowed angle.
“It’s not straight. It curves inward, toward the center.”
Riley tilted her head up at the twelve copper bells hanging overhead.
If the ground lines stood for pendulum paths, the matching clue wasn’t the bells’ broken gaps. It was those faint, easy-to-miss scratch marks on the bell surfaces.
She pointed to one of the smaller bells.
“That one has wear marks curving left along its bottom edge.”
Pineapple Beer followed her gaze. “The second bell has right-facing scratches.”
TartKing craned her neck, struggling to see the tiny marks. She pulled out stamina cookies, handed one to the other two, and took a big bite herself.
“Your eyes are insane, Burger,” she mumbled with her mouth full.
Riley shot her a look. “Chew and swallow first before talking.”
TartKing quickly swallowed her food. “I’m just refueling!”
PineappleBeer said flatly, “You’ve refueled three times already.”
TartKing whispered defensively, “Puzzles burn so much brainpower. The brain uses more energy than any other organ!”
A small smile tugged at Riley’s mouth.
The three of them quickly picked out the five bells that matched the five curved lines.
First bell: left-side wear marks.
Second bell: right-side wear marks.
Third bell: also right-facing, with a horizontal crack across its body
Fourth bell: downward scratch marks.

They’d found the correct bells, but one problem still remained-how to activate them.
There were no regular bell hammers anywhere in the Silent Bell Hall.

Every bell hung from a copper chain that ran down into the floor grooves, all connecting back to the central stone platform. Pineapple Beer and TartKing had already learned the hard way that pulling the wrong chain spawned trap monsters.
“For the three-line door,” PineappleBeer explained, “we slotted copper pieces into the platform grooves and pressed the bell patterns in order. The bells didn’t ring, but the door unlocked.”
Riley stared down at the central platform.
Twelve bell carvings circled the stone surface, each one linked to a single overhead bell.
“Do you have the exact matching patterns for all five bells?” she asked.
TartKing flipped open their stone slab. “We confirmed four. The fifth one’s a mystery. Its groove crosses twice under the platform, so we didn’t dare test it.”
Riley crouched down to examine the winding grooves.
The paths crossed and twisted, with super hidden connections.
Judging just by the surface direction, the fifth bell should link to the bottom-left pattern.
But tracing the thin copper wires inside the grooves showed a hidden loop under the platform, leading all the way to the top-right pattern.
Riley tapped the top-right bell carving gently with her axe handle.
“This is the right one.”
Pineapple Beer didn’t take her word for it right away. She crouched down and traced the full groove path with her fingertip.
She moved slowly and carefully, scared of setting off a hidden mechanism.
