Chapter 645 Finally Found the Map
“We stop once we find the map.”
“What if we still have to open ten more chests after this?”
Pineapple Beer glanced at her. “Then we open ten more.”
TartKing fell silent.
She suddenly missed the soft bed back at the inn.
The ninth chest sat in a small abandoned courtyard.

Only one gray-armored sentinel guarded it, but thin black vines crawled all over the courtyard walls. The second TartKing stepped close, the vines snuck silently toward her feet.
She reacted fast, instantly switching her weapon.
She stowed her orange staff and gripped her greatsword instead.
Pineapple Beer just finished slashing the sentinel’s neck open. She turned back right in time to see TartKing chopping down the creeping black vines by her feet.
Her moves weren’t fancy, but they were clean and decisive.
Riley blocked the sentinel’s scythe strike and couldn’t help but speak up. “Not bad.”
“Don’t praise me,” TartKing replied while hacking at the vines. “I’ll only get nervous and mess up.”
Once she cleared all the vines, she switched back to her staff and crouched down to open the chest. Inside were two Mental Recovery Potions and a small pouch of Frost Tokens.
Still no map.
TartKing’s expression went blank with exhaustion.
“This chest system is definitely targeting me.”
“You’re already having pretty good luck,” Pineapple Beer said.
“Good luck? Where?”
“As least all the chests you’ve opened are real.”
TartKing thought back to those ghostly hands lurking under the broken bridge and had to admit she had a point.
reaching the eleventh chest, they ran into a second survivor team.

Chapter 645 Finally Found the Map
This group only had two people.
A male healer and a female archer.

They were hiding inside a half-collapsed building, bandaging their wounds. An opened empty chest sat on the ground beside them-they’d clearly already looted everything.
The second Riley’s group walked past, the female archer immediately nocked an arrow and stepped firmly in front of her teammate.
Riley didn’t move closer.
“We’ll take the other path.”
Seeing they meant no trouble, the male healer glanced up and spoke out of the blue. “Don’t head right. That area’s a resource nest. Loads of chests, but way more mobs. Five of us went in earlier, and only two of us made it out.”
The female archer’s face tensed, clearly not wanting him to share that info.
The healer shook his head.
“Letting them walk in to die doesn’t help us. If they aggro all those mobs, we won’t escape either.”
The archer finally nodded and continued guarding him.
Riley looked at the healer.
“Thanks.”
The man waved her off tiredly.
Riley didn’t ask any follow-up questions and led PineappleBeer and TartKing to bypass the right side entirely.
The twelfth chest was placed beside a broken stone bridge.
Two blade-legged bugs and one gray-armored sentinel stood guard.
The three of them finished the fight in no time.
Riley kited the sentinel away, PineappleBeer took out the bugs, and TartKing got to work opening the
chest.
The second the chest opened. TartKing froze completely.
Riley was mid-struggle, blocking the sentinel’s scythe with her axes. The sudden silence behind her made her heart drop.
“”fart?”

The next second, TartKing’s excited shout burst out beside the broken bridge.
“Iound it!”
She got too carried away and yelled way too loud.
The distant scraping of iron boots instantly halted.
Pineapple Beer’s expression sharpened. “Mobs are heading this way!”

Tart King immediately clamped a hand over her mouth, clutching a rolled-up gray map tightly in her other hand.
“My bad! I

and get over here, now!”
affed the map into her inventory and sprinted over with her staff in hand.
ed a heal over PineappleBeer first, then threw a Temporary Shield Card toward Riley.
ey caught the card and activated it instantly.
The sentinel’s scythe slammed into the shield. The barrier cracked under the impact, but it blocked the lethal hit perfectly.
Pineapple Beer finished off the last blade-legged bug. She pushed off the bridge edge, glided in from the side, and drove her Time-Severing Shadow Blade straight into the sentinel’s neck.
Riley brought both her axes down in a final strike.
The gray-armored sentinel crumpled to the ground, dead.
