Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 1183

When Palmer and Leda heard the plan was to take on the Smith family, they both looked genuinely surprised. Palmer rubbed his chin, thinking it over. “The Smiths aren’t easy to deal with. They’ve had a strong hold on Harrisburg for years. If we go after them, it’ll shake up the balance and could cause us a lot of problems.”

Walter was quick to respond. “But the plan is solid. I really think we should try. The Wilson Group desperately needs something new.”

That system Camila Davis developed had given the Wilson Group a real edge. They’d tasted success and now everyone was hungry for more. The trouble was, they didn’t have the right talent to push things further on their own.

“If we team up with NextGen Technologies, all those worries go away,” Walter said. “The shareholders would have to be on board. And as you step back and I take over, I don’t plan to let the Wilson Group stay stuck where it is. I just need your help convincing the board.”

It wasn’t that Walter couldn’t handle the shareholders himself. The problem was a few old-timers on the board who were set in their ways. They’d spent their whole lives at the Wilson Group and getting them to agree would take ages, maybe even end in a shouting match.

Palmer thought it through and finally nodded. “Show me your plan when you have it ready. If it really works, I’ll back you all the way.” He’d always been the type to let Walter figure things out on his own, and Walter had never let him down.

Leda, though, was fuming. “Jordan Smith! I used to think he was somebody. Turns out he’s just low. The way the Smiths treated Camila before, and now that she’s moved on, he’s still bothering her? Honestly, it’s shameless. No wonder the Williams family is upset. If I were them, I’d be angry too.”
