Everything was so perfect that Camila felt like she must be dreaming. This couldn't be real, could it?
She watched the heartwarming scene between the old man and the little girl, unsure of how to react. Finally, it was Mr. and Mrs. Davis who broke the spell.
"Isn't this... a bit too much?" Melissa asked hesitantly, instinctively wanting to decline the extravagant gifts on Lillian's behalf.
Charlotte smiled warmly. "Not at all. It's just a small token from him. Besides, a first meeting calls for something special. Please think of it as a welcoming gift for Lillian, nothing more."
Melissa and her husband still felt uncertain and looked to their daughter and Dennis for guidance. When Dennis gave them a reassuring nod, they said no more.
Oblivious to their concerns, the elder Mr. Williams beamed down at Lillian. "Do you like it?" he asked.
Lillian blinked her beautiful big eyes and nodded honestly. "I love it! It's so pretty. Thank you, Great-Grandpa Williams!"
The sound of her calling him "Great-Grandpa Williams" again filled him with pure, unadulterated joy. "As long as you like it, that's all that matters!" he exclaimed, elated. All the time he'd spent choosing the perfect gift had been worth it.
The others watched the scene, smiling fondly. It was obvious to everyone that the patriarch of the Williams family genuinely adored Lillian; his affection was clearly not an act.
Still, some, like Larry Adams and Sarah Brown, found the entire situation surreal. They had witnessed the elder Mr. Williams's previous attitude firsthand, and this transformation was staggering.
"What on earth could have caused such a drastic change?"
Mrs. Molly was also watching, her heart filled with contentment. She had come to view Camila as her own, which made Lillian feel like her own granddaughter. Seeing them both so warmly welcomed brought her more joy than anyone.
As for Isabella, after her initial surprise, she discreetly gave Dennis a thumbs-up. Only he could have managed to win over an old traditionalist like the elder Mr. Williams, and to do so without any conflict was a true feat.
It was a perfect end to the night. The atmosphere was warm and harmonious. Since most of Isabella's guests were from within the music industry, the family's reconciliation remained private. The media had also been instructed to report only on the concert itself, with any mentions of individuals limited to the major figures of the music world. No one dared to report a single word about Dennis Williams or Camila Davis.
Later that evening, the celebration finally drew to a close. By the time the guests departed, it was nearly ten o'clock. After a long day, everyone was exhausted.
Isabella, not having the stamina to stay up any later, left the final cleanup to her team and said her goodbyes, heading home to rest.
