Chapter 930 Hot Springs Getaway
No one else was up yet.
“What’re you doing awake so early?” Harold muttered, voice still rough with sleep.
Lately, he’d been buried in work, coming home later every night.
Harvey, on the other hand, had been taking it easy ever since the car accident. He didn’t even want to hear the company’s name brought up—all he cared about these days was his love life.
He was in the kitchen, packing breakfast into a to-go container with a soft smile. “Not your business.”
“Take a look at yourself, man. Is this even you anymore? You’ve got it bad.”
Harvey snorted. “Oh, like you’re one to talk. Mr. Cool Guy over here—then don’t you dare take breakfast upstairs.”
Harold, who was just reaching for his own breakfast, paused and shot him a frown.
Harvey ate a bite while he finished packing, then headed out in a hurry.
Harold could only shake his head with a quiet laugh before picking up his plate and heading upstairs.
Claudia was still fast asleep, one pale arm draped outside the covers.
He set the breakfast down on the nightstand, sat on the edge of the bed, and gently twirled a strand of her hair between his fingers, watching her.
“Sweetheart?”
Claudia turned her face away, mumbled something into the pillow, and drifted back under.
Harold didn’t push.
He’d heard her get up earlier to use the bathroom and wash her face, thinking she was starting her day, but she’d just crawled right back under the comforter.
He leaned down, kissed her bare shoulder, tucked the blanket around her, and slipped out of the room.
Outside, he pulled his car to a stop in front of Dolores’ place.
He waited about ten minutes before Harvey finally walked out of the house.
Harold glanced at the watch Claudia had given him. “Nine minutes late. Not like you.”
Harvey slid into the passenger seat, leaned back, and looked over.
“I heard you’ve been raising hell at the office—slamming doors when you’re pissed, missing meetings, playing by your own rules, just following your lead.”
It was true. Harold’s loose, unconventional style had somehow gotten the company to run on its own.
A lot of things didn’t need to be said—people just started doing them.

Harold shrugged. “I’ll take that as a compliment.”
