Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1755

Milka slipped into her father’s room, dinner plate in hand, but she had no intention of eating. She just set it aside on the table.

“I’m being totally serious with you right now,” Jupiter said, fixing her with a look. “I don’t have a problem with you and Mars, but listen—whatever we talk about next, you can’t breathe a word of it to Mars.”

Milka just stood there, speechless. Mars had called this from a mile away.

She remembered him teasing her earlier, “Milka, your dad’s definitely going to use this as a chance to grill you about my aunt, and he’ll say not to tell me. It’s just him saving face—he knows he can’t outsmart me. But make sure you tell me everything afterwards, or he’ll end up pulling one over on you.”

Milka nodded. “What’s up, Dad?”

Jupiter hesitated, struggling for words. After a couple of false starts, he finally blurted out, “Is your mom really planning to, you know, start over with someone else? Overseas?”

Milka was quiet for a moment, thinking, Mars is basically living inside my head.

Jupiter took her silence as confirmation and huffed, “So you’re saying she’s with that blond guy now?”

Milka mulled it over. “Dad, if Mom really did find someone else, would you be mad?”

Jupiter scoffed. “Me? Mad? Why would I? She does her thing, I do mine. It’s whatever.” Even as he said it, Milka could see how hard he was clenching his jaw. “So it’s true then, huh?” he pressed.

Milka knitted her brows, torn. “Honestly, I don’t know. That guy did help Mom and me a lot when we were overseas. Before I came back, I didn’t think there was anything going on. But I’ve been back for a while now, and I have no clue what’s happening over there. Mars went to check things out this time. He’s a guy—maybe he gets men better than I do. If Uncle Parker made a move while I was away, I can see why Mom might want to move on.”

“Don’t call him ‘Uncle.’ He’s not your uncle!” Jupiter practically exploded.
