Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1756

“Dad, just think about it. Why do you think Mom takes your money so easily—even when she knows exactly where it comes from?” Milka’s voice was cool, tossing the question right back at her father.

“It’s like me using Mars’s stuff,” he said. “I’ve always used it with a clear conscience. I just know we’re meant to be together.”

Milka looked at her dad, who fell quiet, lost in his thoughts. She stood up. “You should eat something before bed. Don’t mess up your stomach at your age. Mom called me last night, asking how you were doing.”

Her words hit Jupiter hard, regret stinging him for all the things he’d said about his ex-wife. He couldn’t even sleep well that night.

“Milka, can you pass a message to your mom? Tell her she should seriously think twice about that blond guy. You can’t just settle for anyone, you know.”

Milka couldn’t help but roll her eyes. “Dad, Uncle Parker doesn’t even have blond hair—his is brown.”

But Jupiter was stubborn. “Brown, blond, whatever. He’s still the blond guy to me. That’s just how it is.”

At a fancy preschool during outdoor playtime—

Henry cocked his head, checking out a classmate’s hair color. He trailed after the boy, even peering into his eyes—those were a different color too.

Finally, Henry blurted out, “Can you even see where you’re going with eyes like that?”

The little boy answered in another language. “I don’t know what you’re saying.”

It was the first time Henry ran into someone he truly couldn’t talk to. “Can you speak at all?”

The boy replied again, but Henry was still clueless.

Most kids would’ve run to the teacher, but Henry just grabbed the boy’s hand so he couldn’t leave, then tapped his smartwatch. “My Cooper can talk to anyone—he’s the best.”

Across the world, Cooper’s phone buzzed. Jennie snatched it up. “Hey there, sweetheart.”

Cooper scratched his head, totally lost. “Uh, buddy, who is he?”

“Sweetie doesn’t know either,” Henry muttered, looking helplessly at the sobbing boy.

Cooper: “...”

The crying instantly drew all the teachers’ attention.

The teachers had brought everyone out to the vegetable garden for a lesson about plants. With kids from every grade—big, middle, and little classes—all bundled together, all about the same height and wearing identical uniforms, it was nearly impossible to keep an eye on everyone.

It was the perfect chance for Henry to slip away and satisfy his curiosity about the classmates who looked different from him. He wandered off, eager to chat.

While the teachers were still doing headcounts, suddenly, a loud wail cut through the garden.
