Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1759

Mia and Andre shared a knowing look—no one understands their own kid better than parents do. Their little guy wouldn’t hurt a fly.

Mia turned to the teachers. “Did any of you actually see Henry picking on another kid?”

The teachers exchanged uneasy glances. Finally, Henry’s teacher stepped forward. “We didn’t see anything ourselves. We just heard a kid crying, rushed over, and found the two boys together. The garden is big, and the vegetable patch is new this year. It’s the first time we’re letting kids run around back there, and we haven’t put up cameras yet… So, honestly, no one saw what happened.”

Mia was stumped. So, whether her son did anything or not, nobody really knew—except for the two boys involved.

She looked over at the other child, who was curled up miserably in his grandfather’s arms. Sitting next to them was old Mr. Swift, scowling and silent since Mia and Andre walked in, like he was waiting for the Cedillo family to explain themselves.

Mia crouched down, trying to talk to the little boy, but he just buried his face deeper into his grandpa’s shoulder.

Meanwhile, Henry twisted around and clung to Andre’s neck, his chubby cheek squished up against his dad’s.

The teacher added, “Henry was the one who wandered off from the group.” Mia turned to her son. “Why weren’t you with everyone else, sweetheart? What were you doing over there?”

Henry glanced at Mr. Swift and said, “Mommy, I couldn’t find his eyeballs. I thought he couldn’t see where he was going, so I wanted to help him!”

Everyone stopped short, stunned—except Andre, who just sighed. Of course, his son would drag someone off for a “science experiment.”

Mia shook her head. “Your dad knows you too well!”

Henry continued, “And then he talked, but I couldn’t really understand him. I called Uncle Cooper, and then he started crying.”

Things were starting to make sense. Mia looked at the teachers. “My son’s explained himself. I believe he didn’t hit anyone.”
