Henry piped up, “Hey, don’t cry. I wasn’t trying to hurt you.”

Andre translated for his son.

Sure enough, Johnny, still sniffling, wiped his eyes and looked up at Henry across the room.

Andre pressed gently, “But did he actually do anything to hurt you?”

Johnny shook his head.

As soon as everyone realized it was all a big misunderstanding, the tension disappeared. Old Mr. Swift, hearing his grandson’s words for himself, was finally convinced. Still, he’d stormed in here ready for a fight—now he wasn’t so sure if he’d gone a bit too far with the man in front of him.

Old Swift’s bluster faded as he looked at the powerful man from the business world.

With everything cleared up, Mia knelt down and spoke gently to Johnny, “Henry’s my son. He noticed your eyes looked different from his and thought maybe you couldn’t see the path, so he just wanted to help you walk.”
