Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1771

Mr. Nettleton took one look at his bright-eyed little girl and didn’t even bother with the dining table—he just grabbed some food straight into his bowl with a flourish. Bowl in hand, he strolled over to watch Lizzy eat. “Did you miss Daddy already, Lizzy? I was only gone a minute.”

Annie shot him a look. “She’s just waiting to complain about you. You let her get too much sun again.”

“Nonsense. This morning, she was tugging at my sleeve, dying to come along. Isn’t that right, sweetie?” Conner said, picking up a piece of meat with his chopsticks and trying to feed it to Lizzy.

Lizzy opened her mouth like a little bird. “Ahh—”

Annie frowned at the meat. “Let her have veggies. Meat’s too heavy for her little stomach.”

Just as the meat was about to reach Lizzy, Mr. Nettleton pulled back and, with a grin, popped it in Annie’s mouth instead.

Lizzy watched, wide-eyed and devastated—she’d been so close. Her face scrunched up, and tears started rolling down.

Everyone who was watching, whether on a video call or right there in the room, started laughing. Mia teased, grinning, “Annie, you sure Lizzy isn’t actually my kid?”

Mr. Nettleton was thoroughly entertained by his daughter. He quickly grabbed a napkin to wipe away her little tears. “Okay, okay, Daddy will feed you. Here you go.”

He offered her a leafy bit of spinach, finally calming her down.

Annie turned to the housekeeper. “Could you make Lizzy a bottle? She’s probably hungry.”

On the video call with Mia, Aunt Jane, and big sister Anya, Lizzy was all smiles for the camera. Her chubby cheeks and sheer cuteness made the two moms on the call swoon a little—even if they wouldn’t admit it.

But that was as far as it went.

Later, the men started calling their wives, asking when they’d be home, and only then did the three women say their goodbyes.

When Anya got home, she’d barely stepped through the door before she heard the phone ringing in the living room. Leo’s voice carried over: “Go through the contract with Mr. Wu again. If everything checks out, Chunky can sign on our behalf tomorrow.”

Alyna asked, “You’re not going yourself?”
