Milka had no memory of it whatsoever, but she was stunned. "How did you know?"
Mars, having played dumb for so long, leaned over her. "Milka, have you ever seen me blackout drunk?" He remembered every single detail of that night, including dragging a tipsy Milka to the hotel. He clearly recalled looking at her reflection in the elevator mirrors while holding her in his arms.
He had been acting out of spite. Damn it, she had broken up with him just like that, without even giving him a chance to win her back before flying out of the country. When she returned, she didn't come looking for him and even accepted roses from another man. Of course, he was thrilled when his precious godson, Henry, ended up destroying those flowers. But that night, fueled by anger, jealousy, and alcohol, he had dragged Milka straight to the hotel.
Milka realized she had been completely played. "Then why did you keep insisting you didn't remember? You put on quite the act."
"If I didn't act the part, would we be here today? I had to manufacture an excuse to keep you tangled up with me." Mars gazed at his 'prey,' leaning in close and pinning her against the mattress. "Rested enough? Let's keep going."
...
Jupiter and his ex-wife reconciling was wonderful news, and many people came to congratulate him.
It actually made Jupiter a little embarrassed, experiencing the thrill of a newlywed at his age.
He decided to take his wife back to the military base. With his high-ranking position there, his subordinates wouldn't dare make jokes at his expense.
Abby teased her husband about being thin-skinned.
Milka's parents left without dragging Mars along. They knew the young couple had just gotten together and were practically inseparable. As experienced adults, the Solomon family had the sense not to pull their son-in-law away.
Before the Solomon family departed, the Arrowood family came to see them off. Leah looked at the Solomon family with immense gratitude, thrilled to have such a wonderful daughter-in-law. "Have a safe trip, you two. Don't worry about Milka. Roberto and I already treat her like our own daughter. Rest easy, thank you, and take care!"
