Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1834

Naturally, those clients would be drawn straight to Golden Top.

And even if Leo approached them himself, as the original developer of the system, closing the deals would be a breeze.

It suddenly clicked for Chunky. "Leo, I get it now. You sold that system for practically nothing back then, and I thought you were getting scammed. But you were playing the long game. You were planning this startup even back then?"

"When you take the first step, you have to know how you're going to walk the next ten. Andre taught me that."

"Which uncle?"

"The second son of the old man sleeping in my office."

Chunky rolled his eyes. "Would it kill you to just say 'Andre Cedillo'?"

Now that Chunky understood Leo's strategy, he felt much more confident. "That deal with Mr. Miles last time, we gave him a free two-year trial at a loss. Leo, why were you so dead set on securing that client? I know you must have an ulterior motive."

Leo rested his chin on his thumb and index finger, giving Chunky a meaningful smirk. "As the boss, I can't let you in on all my motives."

"Keep playing your mind games, then. Whatever. I don't get management or business negotiations anyway. I'll stick to being the tech nerd."

Light snow began to fall outside. The cleaning lady stepped inside, brushing off her coat and grumbling. "I just swept the yard and it's coming down again. Be careful when you head out, everyone."

Leo glanced out the window. He stood up; it was time to wake his grandfather and send him home.

Hansen groaned as he was shaken awake, still slightly disoriented. "Is it dinner time?"

"It will be by the time you get home."
