Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1835

Mia wrapped an arm around her son while watching Molly carefully clean Wayne's ears. "Milka is back in town. We're going to grab dinner with her tonight. You coming?"

Henry instinctively reached up to scratch his own ear, tilting his face so his mother could inspect it for dirt.

Mia took a quick look. "I check you every day. Your ears are cleaner than your face. Just don't bump into Wayne, it's dangerous."

Henry obediently kept his distance, terrified of accidentally bumping Molly's hand and hurting Wayne's eardrum. They had told him that if that happened, Wayne would go deaf and never hear anything again.

So, he simply clung to his mother, whining to go out and play.

Wayne was pinned securely against Molly's leg, too scared to resist. Whenever it pinched, he let out a tiny yelp, and Molly would immediately ease up.

"Why is she back? Isn't she prepping for her exams?" Molly asked.

"She probably just got in," Mia replied. "It's been a while since she saw everyone. Let's text Anya and all go get some street food tonight."

Henry's head snapped up, eyes shining. "Mommy, I want the non-spicy kind!"

Molly finished cleaning her son's ears, rubbed a little soothing lotion on them, and pulled him into her lap. She looked at Mia. "So, we heading out now?"

With the snow falling steadily, Naomi trailed behind the two women, anxiety evident in her voice. "Make sure you take one of the cars with snow chains from the garage."

They headed to the garage, picked a winter-ready SUV, and the two women, along with the two toddlers, hit the road.

The roads weren't too bad; the plows had already cleared most of the main streets.

By the time they reached downtown, Anya wasn't off work yet, and Milka was still playing mahjong with her mother-in-law.

The two women decided to kill time by shopping for heavy winter coats for their husbands and kids.

Henry refused to try anything on at the mall. He just wanted to run wild. "Mommy, you said we were getting food! Not looking at clothes."

"Come try this on, Henry. We'll get matching ones for you and your dad. You guys will look so cool walking together."
