Most schools hadn't let out for the holidays yet, but Henry's international school had broken up early for Christmas. With New Year's just around the corner, they had extended the break, leaving the little guy with plenty of free time.

After New Year's, Henry would have to go back to school for a short while before the spring break, which was why he was currently enjoying his days off.

Listening to the boys shouting in the yard, it felt incredibly loud for just two kids.

In the afternoon, once the traffic cleared, Molly headed out to the office. "Wayne, do you want to play at home with your brother or come to the office to see your grandma?"

Glancing at her son, who completely ignored her while playing, Molly muttered to herself, "All right then, I'm taking off."

With Naomi's reminders trailing behind her, she drove away.

Mia realized that not knowing how to drive was a huge inconvenience, especially when everyone in the house could come and go as they pleased. She headed to the garage, found the old car she used to practice in, and spent the entire afternoon practicing alone.

At noon, Wayne had gone down for a nap with his grandfather. Henry, meanwhile, was turning the house upside down looking for his mother. "Mom?" he yelled. "Mia!" No response. Standing in the yard, he decided to mimic his father's playful nicknames. "Lazy Cat Mom! Spitfire!"

Why was it so quiet?

Not one to give up easily, the little guy continued his search.

Finally, he spotted a car moving at a snail's pace in the corner of the parking area. "Mom!"

Mia hit the brakes, pushed the door open, and peeked out. "Sweetie?"

Henry insisted on riding with his mom, and he absolutely demanded the passenger seat.

Mia's driving skills were abysmal at best, but her son wouldn't take no for an answer.

Fortunately, she was crawling along at a safe speed, so she let the little troublemaker hop in.
