“Aslan, hurry up. If you don’t reply, I’ll tell our master to beat you when we get back.

Aslan finally responded. “So you call me Aslan when you need something, but normally you ignore me? You

little brat.”

Sylvara replied, “Drop the act. Cover for me. Send a voice message. Call me wife twice. Ask how I’m doing.”

Aslan had just taken a sip of water. He choked and couged violently.

Jonathan was reviewing a deployment map for the trainees. Seeing Aslan coughing himself purple, he walked over and asked casually, “What happened?”

Aslan coughed for a long moment, then shoved his optical computer at Jonathan. “Sir, what am I supposed to make of this?”

Jonathan swiped through the messages and read them. Two possibilities. Either Your Highness is suspicious of her, so she wants someone to help remove that suspicion. Or she thinks it’s fun to tease him and wants to keep her disguise tight.”

“You seem happy about this.” Aslan truly couldn’t understand the man in front of him. Jonathan’s smile was so bright it nearly lifted off his face. “You look like you’re thrilled that Sylvara is tricking His Highness.”

“Who said that? Am I that kind of person?” Jonathan glared, cleared his throat, and said, “Calling her wife is simple enough. I’ll do it. I’ll make sure her disguise stays airtight.”

“Wait.” Aslan stopped him just as he was about to press the record button.

Jonathan paused. His purple eyes blinked. “What is it?”

What is it?

The combined chaotic humor of everyone in the Troya Empire did not equal this one man. And he dared to ask what is it.

He was only acting like this because no one can control him and he knew it.

Aslan cursed silently, then swallowed under Jonathan’s share and said weakly, “It’s nothing. I just realized you’re His Highness’ teacher. He would recognize your voice right away.”

Jonathan smiled. “Is that all? Aslan, it’s been three days. Your intelligence still hasn’t caught up.”
