The aircraft shot forward. Veyric got thrown sideways and ended up slammed against the seatback. “I’m sure. I even figured out it’s a warship.”

She was stunned. “How do you know it’s a warship?”

“Advantage?” Veyric’s mind worked fast as he stared at the warship getting closer on the display. “It’s small.”

She repeated, “Small?”

He nodded hard. “Yeah. This aircraft is way smaller than a warship. Ours is a two-seater. The warship in this training has to be a two-seater too.

“And since it’s a two-seater, a warship won’t be small. Plus, it carries weapons, so no way it is as compact as our aircraft. It can only be bigger.

“Ours is expensive because of its surveillance system, and it should have an electronic jamming system too. Most importantly, it’s tough. Unless we go head-to-head with the warship, crashing, hitting a mountain, or landing in water is no big deal.”

Sylvara’s mouth dropped open.

In her heart, she silently thanked Malcom for splurging on the aircraft.

When we get back, I’ll make sure to cook him lots of ment. And I’ll make plenty of fruit desserts for him.

“It really does have an electronic jamming system!” Veyric found it on the controls and shouted, “Sylvie, there’s a jamming system, we’ve got one!”

Sylvara’s mouth snapped shut as she grinned. “Turn it on and mess up their radar. We’ll wait for them here for a bit.”

Veyric flipped the switch, his voice trembling. “We’re waiting here? Y-You want to take them out?!”

Sylvara suddenly dropped the aircraft. “Veyric, they’re after us to take us out. You don’t want that, right?”

Veyric shook his head so fast it was almost a blur. “No way, I don’t want that! The jammer’s on. For the sake of my recommendation letter and the Hunting Legion, let’s take them out.”

Sylvara burst out laughing. “Now that’s the spirit! Aim high! Maybe the one chasing us is General Kenobia.”

Veyric said, “What?”
