Sylvara wanted to cry. Even a non-human had firm abs, and here she was, a human girl with nothing but soft belly fat. Too much! Unfair!

Blake didn’t move under her touch. She stayed calm and treated the whole thing as no biggie. “Hearing can fool you. Seeing can’t. You’re touching me right now. Don’t you already know if I’m human or not?

“I don’t need to lie to you. I admit I don’t always play by the rules. But what choice do I have? When you live high up the chain, if you’re not flexible, someone will take you out.”

Sylvara snorted. “Haha, right. Go on. Keep making things up. I’m listening.” Her hand slid slowly upward from Blake’s abs to her chest. Solid. Strong. Great to the touch.

“I’m telling the truth,” Blake said with a bright grin. “I swear on His Majesty. I swear on his good reputation. Sweetheart, trust me just this once, okay?” Selling out Relos didn’t seem to trouble her one bit.

Blake had amazing abs, a narrow waist, broad shoulders and not a single ounce of extra fat.

Sylvara wondered how a non-human woman trained like this. It couldn’t just be her species, right?

So what exactly was she? And what kind of NFS could be pregnant and still have a stomach this flat?

Sylvara’s hand slid down to Blake’s wrist. She grabbed it and lifted her eyes, her voice turning cold. “Do you want me to trust you?”

Blake nodded at once. “Yeah. I’m someone you can trust Look at me. Even after getting treated by your energy, even after learning you’re a Level-7 Plant Healer on Starnet, I didn’t freak out.

“And I didn’t use it to threaten you,” Blake continued. “Plus, you can call lightning. That blue lightning you pulled down? Gorgeous. Way prettier than Agares’ stone cold face. He can’t ever compare to you.”

But Sylvara wasn’t listening to the flattery. She felt the surge of mental energy beneath Blake’s skin and felt the strong pulse. Earlier, she had sensed something else an extra heartbeat. Then it vanished.

She wasn’t imagining it. She had detected a second life carlier.

Now it was gone.

There was only one explanation. Blake was far better at hiding than Sylvara thought.

Or rather, her species was naturally gifted at concealment. Maybe the females of their species could hide a pregnancy so well that even another healer couldn’t find the baby.

Their baby was unbelievably small.

Sylvara tightened her grip around Blake’s wrist. Her small frame held surprising strength. With one pull, she bent Blake forward. “You can threaten me. I don’t mind,” Sylvara said coolly. “Your fertility value is a perfect 100, after all.

“Tell me,” she added with a small smile, “If I go on Starnet and announce myself as a Level-7 Plant Healer, do you think the people will agree to not sending their press and general to be taken to a lab?”

Just imagining it made her pulse race.

Studying Blake would be wildly more interesting than sudying her.

This wasn’t just a breakthrough in science. It was a full-leap past human limits.

NES! Just thinking about it was thrilling.

The emperor didn’t marry a human; he married an N

Blake’s body bent even lower, but she lifted her chin with the attitude of someone who had nothing left to lose. “Looks like your mental energy already reached Lel Nine, Go ahead and shout it out. Who knows? Maybe they’ll drag both of us into the lab. Not bad, we’d have company. Neither of us would be lonely”

“Sure,” Sylvara said. She loosened her grip and pushed lake away. Then she lifted her hand with the optical computer on it and tapped the screen. “Come on. Let’s see who ends up worse.”

Blake watched Sylvara tap on the screen without hesitation and blurt out, “Wait, hold on! Let’s talk!”

Sylvara lifted her eyes, her voice cool and sharp. “You’re a non-human something. Any advice you’d like to give?”

Blake cracked instantly and switched to survival mode.Okay, okay, I was wrong, I shouldn’t have messed with you. I shouldn’t have teased you. Earlier, you said you wanted to claim Agares.
