Sylvara's Rebirth A New Dawn for Abel novel Chapter 228

Chapter 228 The Five Shadows Arrive

Veyric was already bracing himself, ready to scream.

But with three and a half minutes still on the clock, a grup of five stumbled into view.

Sylvara spotted them first. She pressed down on Veyric shoulder to stop him from jumping up in excitement. “More people. Steady your expression.”

After five rough days of chaos, Veyric had learned how switch from excitement to a cold, intimidating look in one second.

He stared at the five figures, rubbed his eyes. Veyric asked in shock, “Issac, Lara, and Shannon and isn’t that Miralys? Didn’t the Supreme Court take her away?”

“That’s right.” Aslan turned toward Blake, who sat on a folding chair with her legs crossed, all her noble grace stripped away and replaced with pure street-tough attitude. She was casually rubbing her stomach. “Miralys was taken by the Supreme Court earlier. Why did you let her go and even give her special permission to join this military training?”

Blake lifted her eyes and gave him a look full of disdain “Why would I turn down money? The country needs cash for all its infrastructure. Lots of it.”

“How much bail did her family pay?” Aslan held up two fingers. “200 million stellar coins?”

Blake snorted in disdain. “Do I look like someone who’d be moved by 200 million? It was a billion. The Mordrels emptied their last savings.”

“Then, why did you order her to be placed in Issac’s team?” Aslan asked, baffled. “Those people shouldn’t have made it anywhere near the finish line. The only reason they did is because your people went easy on them.”

Blake’s lips curved. “I heard Issac wanted to make Agares look like a fool and seduced his wife.”

Aslan froze, then suddenly understood. “Your Majesty, you mean Councilor Ozark found out through some channel that Prince Agares supposedly married Miralys So, he sent his son here to win her favor, thinking that if she got pregnant, the law would protect her as a pregnany woman. Issac could break someone’s marriage without punishment. It would make Prince Agures the laughingstock of the empire?”

“And then,” Aslan continued, “you purposely put them together and made sure they reached the finish line so Sylvara could deal with them?”

Blake raised one perfect brow and corrected him. “Wrong. How is that dealing with them? I’m giving the princess consort a chance to tear apart the home-wrecking pair and establish her authority.”

Establish authority?

Aslan almost laughed out loud. Yeah, right.

He forced out an awkward chuckle and asked disrespectfuly, “So you’re sure this is for Sylvara to confront the cheating pair herself and not you using this chance to settle a personal score?”

Blake’s violet eyes flashed sharply. She glared at him and asked, “What are you talking about? If someone crosses me, I deal with them on the spot. Have you ever seen me wait this long for revenge?

“Aslan, I’m disappointed. I thought you understood me. Turns out, you never did.”

1/2

Aslan face fell. Speechless.

Yeah, right. Whatever.

He knew Blake too well. This woman was incredibly pety. Honestly, sometimes it wasn’t even revenge; she just liked to toy with people.

And she did it so well that her targets never even realize who was playing them.

Sylvara nodded at the group of five walking toward them and reminded Veyric. “Don’t forget Norris.”

If she didn’t know Blake was the Chief Prosecutor, Sylvaa would’ve assumed her family had pulled every string they had to bail Miralys out.

But now that she did know? It was obvious. Miralys showing up safe and sound, standing right there with Issac and the others.

It was clear as day. Blake wanted to use Sylvara as the tool to pay the Mordrels back-openly, legally, and with a smile.

Nice move.

“It’s money,” Veyric said, lifting his eyes from his optical computer and looking at the group approaching. “The Mordrels paid a billion to bail her out. They also pulled strings in private to wipe her record clean and send her here.”

Wow!

When Sylvara scammed Seraphine, she thought a few hundred million was already scraping the bottom of the family vault.
