Chapter 235 A Huge Mistake
Sylvara wiped away the tears from laughing so hard. Thank goodness she hadn’t been on her bed; she would’ve rolled right off it. “Weren’t you returning to Centria for a medical checkup? Is everything fine
now?”
Veyric rushed over in a blur. He pulled a big box out of his spatial button and dropped it right in front of
her.
Sylvara reacted fast and scooped the large black egg off the table.
Good thing she did-smack-Veyric’s box landed exactly where the egg had been. He patted his chest proudly. “I’m fine! I told my family already. I only looked weak because they kept me stuck in hospitals all
the time.
Now that I’m in school and went through a whole month of military training, my stamina went up, and my mental energy went up by point-three. I told my mom made a close friend. She was really happy. This is a gift from her.”
Her mental energy carried attack power and healing power.
All month long during training, she had smacked Veyric around by accident more than once. It couldn’t cure his mental-energy issues or his genetic breakdown, but it did give him small bursts of healing, just enough that people wouldn’t notice.
“What is it?” Sylvara held the black egg and looked at the square box on the table.
Veyric flipped the lid open and spread his hands as if presenting treasure. “Ta-da! Candy that helps genetic breakdown! A whole box! All from my mom!”
Was that poop-flavored gene candy wrapped in shiny colored paper?”
This joke was never going to die, was it?
If she had done something wrong,
Please let the Chief Prosecutor punish her properly.
Not this clueless sweetheart bringing her candy that tasted like disaster.
Sylvara dropped the black egg into a kitchen basket, snapped the box shut, and stuffed it into Veyric’s arms. She pushed him toward the door. “Veyric, I appreciate Mrs. Storm’s kindness, but I have cavities. I can’t eat candy.
“But you can give it to Mr. Otto from the Agriculture Department. Remember? You accidentally shot him. To keep him from holding a grudge, you’d better offer something nice.”
Veyric blinked. “Mr. Otto won’t be that petty, right?”
“Not petty?” Sylvara yelped. “Did you forget? He’s the biggest credit-blocking menace in the entire academy!
“If he can make life miserable for people in his department, imagine what he can do to someone from Mecha. All he has to do is say the word, and your grades go straight to the bottom. And think about it, do you really want to graduate dead last and walk into the tunting Legion with that on your name? That would embarrass your idol!”

Right.
People who entered the Hunting Legion were all top graduates, handpicked by major legions.
They were the best of the best.

If he went in as the bottom of his class, he wouldn’t just waste Blake’s recommendation; he’d embarrass his idol completely.
No way.
Absolutely not.
Veyric still had a tiny bit of doubt in his heart. He didn’t want to believe Aslan would hold a grudge. But Sylvara’s answer crushed that doubt instantly. “So you’re sure that if I give him gene candy, he won’t stay mad that I shot him once?” Veyric asked in a small, shaky voice.
“He won’t,” Sylvara said with full confidence, talking as if every word were absolute truth. “There’s an saying-people don’t hit someone who’s being kind. If we go apologize now, how could he possibly s in the face?”
Veyric nodded hard. “Okay, I’ll go.”
“Go on.” Sylvara gave him a push out the door, then slammed it shut and locked it with a clack. She let ou long breath and walked back inside.
She sat on the couch, thinking about her bargain-bin husband. Something felt off. She had forgotten something important.
A moment later, the kitchen robot walked out and reported cheerfully, “Ms. Feywin, you bought a total of 520 eggs. 100 wyvern eggs. 100 crow eggs. 50 chicken eggs. 60 goose eggs-”
“The big black egg!” Sylvara’s pupils shrank. She slapped her thigh hard. Finally, she remembered what she had forgotten. She left the big black egg in a kitchen basket and never took it out!
She shot to her feet and sprinted toward the kitchen. The moment she stepped inside, she froze. There were eight identical baskets lined up. Each basket was filled with eggs-wyvern eggs, black eggs, and chicken eggs. All mixed together. And the big black egg? Gone. Impossible to tell apart.
Sylvara’s head was spinning. The robot followed her in and, as if trying to be helpful, asked, “Ms. Feywin, would you like me to crack some eggs for cooking?”
Sylvara swayed and grabbed the edge of the table to steady herself. She grew panicked. “This is bad. This is really bad. I can’t find the egg. I can’t find it!”
The robot blinked its big round eyes and said proudly, Ms. Feywin, all the eggs are right here! None are missing!”
Then it helpfully carried all the baskets. Eight baskets of black eggs, plus ten more baskets of all kinds of eggs, lined them neatly across the dining table.
