Chapter 237 The Accident

“Hahaha!” Sylvara burst out laughing at the blacked-out screen of her optical computer. She smacked the nearest egg without thinking and praised herself. “Sylvala, you nailed it. That old fart is going to grill by His Majesty today.”
But her pride didn’t even last three seconds.
The egg she just slapped made a sharp crack and split open.
“Holy shit!” Sylvara yanked her hand and apologized to the cracked black egg in a small, shaky voice. “I didn’t mean it; I didn’t want to do this. Please don’t be Bake’s baby.”
Egg yolk started leaking out of the broken shell.
Sylvara backed away. She knew she couldn’t sit here wailing for her doom. She couldn’t reach Blake tod
Someone else had seen this black egg too: her bargain-bin husband. Even though he had just cut off h optical computer earlier, she had no choice. To find Blake’s baby, she had to risk it.
She hit the video call button.
Agares was in a new combat uniform, sparring with his soldiers on the training field when the call came in.
He kicked away the soldier charging at him, lifted his wist, and saw the caller ID. It was his wife. A warm rush crept up his face..
He paused, then answered the call. He did not expect to see a table full of black eggs.
He flipped another attacker over his shoulder and didn’t even get a word out when his small wife’s hiccuping cries filled the speaker. “Honey… the egg that could hatch a baby… it fell into all these other black eggs.
Her voice broke as she hiccupped through her crying. “I can’t find it anymore and I can’t hatch it. Honey, what do I do?”
The training field fell silent.
Everyone froze like they’d been hit with a pause button. Then, every pair of eyes snapped toward their commander.
And in everyone’s mind, the same thought rose.
So, the deputy generals were telling the truth..
Mrs. Vaelor really is soft, tiny, and adorable; she knows how to cook and loves to cling to the commander.
Look at that! She’s crying so hard she’s hiccupping but still clinging to him.
Gosh! My heart absolutely melted for her.
Those with girlfriends or wives thought differently. Why can’t my girlfriend or wife be like that? Mine would make me sleep outside in the cold if I upset her.
Those without partners thought. I want a wife like Mrs. Naelor. Someone soft, sweet, and clingy, and who
adores me.

Chapter 237 The Accident
Finished Agares’s face went bright red. He leaned toward the screen and said with deep seriousness, “Please hold on for a moment.”
On the other end of the optical computer, Sylvara wipe at tears that didn’t exist.
She blinked in confusion.
Wait, did I overact?
Did my bargain-bin husband somehow realize I wasn’t really ying?
No way.
With his level of emotional awareness? If she lowered her head and shook her shoulders right in front of him, he’d think she was crying for real. There was no chance he’d see through her fake sobbing through a
Screen.
“O-okay,” Sylvara answered, unsure.
Agares placed the hand holding the optical computer behind his back. He gripped it with his other and barked an order at his troops. “Form up. Run fifty kilometers. Losers wash the winners’ clothes fo month.”
A chorus of misery rose in the background.
One brave soldier yelled first, “Aaah! Don’t do this to us, please! Mrs. Vaelor, save us!”
Then the entire training field exploded with desperate cries. “Mrs. Vaelor, please do something about this! Take the commander away!”
“Mrs. Vaelor, hand-washing clothes for a month is too cruel! Please teach your husband to show us some mercy!”
The noise blasted through the optical computer.
So it wasn’t that her bargain-bin husband noticed she was fake-crying.
He was in the middle of training his troops.
Sylvara grinned happily. She leaned toward the camera and fanned the flames. “Stop whining. Just beat him and you won’t have to run.”
The soldier who had first asked for help shouted again. We can’t beat him!”
“Then gang up on him,” Sylvara advised, completely shameless. “Ever heard that one person can’t fight off four hands? On the battlefield, there’s no commander. Use whatever tricks you’ve got. I believe in you. Go
team!”
“Mrs. Vaelor!”
“Add another 30 miles,” Agares cut in, voice cold enough to freeze air. “And anyone who keeps talking, another 30 miles and 500 handwritten copies of the 72 military codes.”
