A flash of light passed through Blake’s violet eyes. “Let’s go to the Elder Council and the Assembly,” she said. “We’ll help your husband squeeze some money out of the military budget. While we’re at it, I’ll help you deal with a few trashy people.”
Help my honey squeeze out the military budget?
And deal with trash on the side?
Sylvara’s high heels clicked sharply against the floor. She glanced sideways at her bargain-bin dad and asked, “Daddy, are you sure you’re helping honey get money and not setting me up?”
The heavy thud of Blake’s boots fell into an awkward rhythm with Sylvara’s heels. “People like to say daughters are a father’s sweetheart,” Blake said coolly. “You’re the kind that keeps giving him headaches.”
“If I didn’t help your husband get money,” she went on, “where do you think all that cash in his account came from?
“Silly girl, you seriously think being a princess consort means dressing pretty, acting like a mascot, and sleeping with the golden prince. That’s it? You’re naïve.”
Sylvara had no words.
She seriously suspected this bastard wasn’t done bullying her for being single. Now she wanted to turn her into free labor.
“I just want to sleep with the golden prince and live off him,” Sylvara said with a grin. She lifted Eggy in her hands. “So, when is it going to hatch?”
Once it cracked open and turned into a person, she could train it a bit. Boom-free labor. Then she could stay pretty, eat for free, sleep all day, and sleep with Agares at night.
Perfect. Absolutely perfect.
Blake’s gaze fell on Eggy. Her answer was vague. “What do you

think?”
How would I know?
It wasn’t me who laid the egg.
Judging by Blake’s look, though, it seemed like it would take forever.

Chapter 274 Dandy’s Help
Fine.
:
You couldn’t judge eggs from freak species by normal standards anyway.

Kairos took three years to be born. A certain rascal egg took 30. She wouldn’t even be surprised. Back on ancient Earth, the stranger the creature, the faster people wanted to kill it, hurt it, or lock it up.
So this little rascal was rare.
And the rarer it was, the less predictable it became.
“General Kenobia,” an Elder Council guard said as he stopped Blake, “today is a three-party meeting between the Elder Council, the Assembly, and the military. Unauthorized personnel are not allowed inside.” He added pointedly, “Especially meetings this important. Not just any eye candy or random nobody can walk in, General.”
That random eye candy, Sylvara, was speechless.
Well. Thanks for the compliment on my looks.
Blake looked at the guard calmly. “You’re right. Random nobodies shouldn’t enter the Elder Council,” she said. “So, we won’t go in. We’ll wait here.”
As soon as she finished speaking, her adjutant, Traze Colon, stepped out of the aircraft. He pulled two folding chairs from a spatial button and set them on the ground.
Blake pointed to a spot. “Not right by the door. Don’t block the Elder Council, the Assembly, or the military when they come out.”
“Yes, General Kenobia!” Traze snapped a salute. He quickly moved the chairs aside, then took out a folding table, set up tea, and opened a sun umbrella. “All set, General Kenobia,” he reported.
Blake glanced at the guard, then led Sylvara over.
The two of them sat down calmly.
One of them wore a black military uniform. Heavy boots wrapped around her calves. Her right leg rested over her left as she leaned back in the chair, fingers interlaced. Her posture was calm but commanding, sharp and decisive, as if battle followed wherever she went.
“Beside her sat another figure in a red dress. Her right leg crossed over her left, a long, straight, fair calf exposed beneath the red fabric.
She radiated elegance, power, and a “do not approach” queenly presence.

Of course, one had to ignore the black egg she was holding in her hand.
The guards were stunned. What is going on?

General Kenobia had gone too far this time. This was a serious, formal meeting. Not only had he brought along a decorative figure, but he was clearly treating that eye candy with great importance.
