Anry lifted her optical computer and checked the time. “It’s time to start the meeting,” she said. “The Commander is far away on Kolar planet. His Majesty hadn’t informed us that he would be here, so he probably won’t. As for General Kenobia, his absence has become routine. The meeting will begin now.

“Today’s agenda is simple,” she continued. “We will vote on reducing the military budget for next quarter-”

“Elder Anry, please watch your choice of words,” someone from the military interrupted. “General Kenobia is not habitually absent. Every time he can’t attend, he sends notice by email.”

“This time he did the same,” the officer went on. “He clearly stated he would attend. You didn’t even ask. You just decided to start the meeting on your own. What are you trying to do?”

Anry smiled. “What am I trying to do?” she replied calmly. “As citizens of the Empire, following the law and being on time should come first.”

“As the High General,” Anry added. “He can’t expect everyone to wait for him just because he isn’t feeling well. We have a full room here. Councilor Wright, don’t you agree?”

After Isaac caused trouble during joint military training, shouting about having powerful backing. The incident had exploded on Starnet. Isaac had been taken away again for questioning. Ozark had barely had time to breathe.

And the Operations Chief of that training had been Blake. To Ozark, the conclusion was obvious. This had to be Blake’s doing. She was abusing her authority. This was revenge.

Now that Anry had handed him the words, Ozark opened his mouth and took them. “Yes,” he said. “Without rules, there is no order. As the High General, from his first day at the military academy, from his first day on the battlefield, what his instructor and commanders taught him was simple-be on time and keep your word.”

“So,” Anry concluded crisply, “the meeting will now begin. If anyone from the military does not wish to participate, you may leave.”

“Elder Anry-”

“Elder!” Anry’s personal secretary hurried in and called out to her, cutting off the military official mid-sentence. She stepped close and whispered something into Anry’s ear.

Anry’s expression changed instantly. She shot to her feet. “He’s here?” Anry snapped. “Why did you block him?”

The secretary lowered her head, her voice full of panic. “The guards outside didn’t mean to

stop him,” she said. “But he came to the meeting with a beautiful woman.

“The guards didn’t think much of it,” the secretary continued. “They only reminded him that women usually aren’t brought into meetings like this. No one expected what happened next,” she said. “He sat down right at the entrance. Completely ignored protocol. “Then she started a live stream on Starnet,” the secretary added. “He pointed the camera straight at the Council Hall’s entrance and began telling viewers about his past victories against bandits in the space.

“What?!” Anry’s voice shot up sharply. “He’s outside the Council Hall and started a livestream?”

The secretary lowered her head even more. Her voice was trembling. “Yes, Elder Anry. He’s been live for over ten minutes. Early estimates say more than a hundred million viewers are watching.”

Smack!

Anry slapped her across the face without hesitation. “Useless trash. Why aren’t you stopping him now?”

“Yes, Elder!” The secretary answered at once. She didn’t even have time to cover the handprint on her face before backing out in a panic.

At that moment, the military representative-the one who had spoken earlier-happened to turn on his optical computer.

Blake’s calm, mocking voice flowed out of the device and echoed through the meeting room. “Alright, Starnet friends,” Blake said lazily. “Let’s continue. Let’s talk about that piece of garbage ranked in the top five on the Empire Bounty List.

“It’s been so many years, I don’t even remember his real name,” she went on. “You can look it up yourselves later. For now, I’ll give him a code name—Bunny.

“Bunny fits him perfectly. Slippery as a rabbit. He has at least three hideouts. I searched for three days and still couldn’t find him.

“When you can’t find the man, you find his hideouts. And when I finally reached one, guess what happened? Bunny decided I wasn’t good enough to step into his hideout. He stopped me outside and pointed a heavy sniper cannon at my head. Threatened to blow me apart,

“Just like this. As High General, I may not be as legendary as some commanders on the battlefield. But I have held the line alone, fought off the Swarmborn, crushed bandits, and stood one against a hundred. I’m covered in old injuries now. But for the glory of the Empire, I regret nothing.

“His Majesty took pity on my broken body. He brought me to visit the Fourth Civilization for treatment. He even let me recover in the palace.
