Blake couldn’t even look at her anymore. She turned her gaze to the Saphron instead. “Your name is Saphron, right?”

“Yes, General Kenobia!” Saphron snapped out of his daze at once. The image of his uncle being taken away by the Supreme Court was still stuck in his mind. He answered quickly, excited and respectful.

“Relax,” Blake said calmly. “I was the one who asked someone to invite you here, all the way from Fifth Sector. Sit.” She pointed to a chair.

Saphron froze. He hadn’t expected the person who invited him to be Blake himself, the mentor of the national hero. His hands and feet suddenly felt like they didn’t belong to him. “I—I can stand,” he stammered. “Standing is fine. Please, don’t mind me.”

Blake curved her lips into a gentle smile. She looked warm and easygoing. “I asked you here to talk business,” she said. “If the deal works out, we’ll be business partners.

“If you stay standing like that, we can’t really talk. Sit.”

He wanted to do business with me?

This… this… this is huge.

It felt like a giant gift had fallen straight out of the sky and hit him on the head.

Saphron stood there, stunned, unable to react.

“Sit down already,” Sylvara said, patting the seat beside her. “Mr. Gild, sit here.”

Saphron swallowed. His hands trembled as he took a deep breath, bracing himself. Slowly, he sat down. His back was stiff, hands placed neatly on his knees. He looked exactly like an elementary school kid being scolded by the principal.

“Don’t be nervous,” Blake said again, her tone soothing. She casually poured him a glass of water and smiled. “You’re sweetheart’s business partner. She trusts you. Since she trusts you, so do I.”

Ms. Feywin is something he treasured.

And the High General poured him water himself.

Saphron was so flustered he jumped to his feet, bent forward, and accepted the glass with both hands. “Thank you for trusting me, General Kenobia. Thank you, Ms. Feywin.”

“You’re welcome,” Blake said. Then her expression turned serious as she went straight to the point. “Saphron, your registered residence is in the Fifth Sector. Your family used to run a business. After your father passed away, things went downhill. All that was left were some farmland on Fifth Sector and a bit of savings.

“You have a mother suffering from genetic breakdown. She’s been hospitalized at Central Gene Hospital for years. Most of the money your father left went into her treatment. “The hospital bed was arranged by your Uncle Winson,” Blake continued. “Is that correct?”

Blake had investigated everything.

Saphron didn’t dare hide the truth. “Yes, that’s correct.”

Blake nodded. “Then I need to remind you of something. Your mother’s spot in the hospital wasn’t arranged by your uncle. When a patient’s genetic breakdown and mental instability are evaluated at Grade -3, Central Gene Hospital is required to admit them—no conditions, no connections.”

Saphron stared at her in shock. “N-not through Uncle Winson?” he asked, eyes wide. “But he always told me spots were extremely limited. He said that without connections, it was impossible to get one.”

He lost his father. After that, his mother suffered a genetic breakdown. Her mental energy spiraled out of control, and she could no longer live a normal life. That was when he came to Centria Planet and found Winson.

Winson told him there was a way to get into Central Gene Hospital, but it required money and connections. So he gave Winson everything his father had left behind, except for a small amount to rent a shop.

He never doubted Winson. Not once. All he wanted was to make more money to keep paying for his mother’s treatment.

Blake let out a light laugh and said calmly, “If you don’t believe me, you can personally check with the hospital later. Also, when a genetic breakdown reaches Grade -3 the patient can actively apply for Imperial medical reimbursement. The reimbursement rate is up to 70 percent.”

She paused, then added clearly, “Of course, there’s a condition. The application must be submitted voluntarily by the patient’s direct family member. After a Medical Division officer verifies the case, 70 percent of the expenses are reimbursed. If the family does not actively apply, this benefit is treated as voluntarily waived by both the patient and their family.”

Blake looked at Saphron and continued, “But during all these years your mother was hospitalized, the reimbursement was applied for every single year. The applicant was her direct family member. It was your Uncle Winson.”
