Sylvara lifted her head and looked at the prosecutor. She carried herself like a queen-cool, distant, and proud. “It’s in,” she said calmly. “1.5 billion.”

Blake, sitting across from her, raised an eyebrow. She poured a glass of water and slid it over to Sylvara.

The moment Winson heard the money had gone through, his face tightened with pain. His heart felt like it was bleeding. He forced a polite tone and asked the prosecutor, “I’ve transferred the infringement compensation. So this matter…

“You did transfer the compensation,” the prosecutor cut in, “but you are a third-rank duke. You knew copying and stealing intellectual property was illegal, but you broke the law anyway. That makes it worse. You are fined an additional 10 percent of Quill House’s annual gross revenue.”

.10 percent of annual revenue?

Winson’s face was covered in blood. His legs gave out, and he collapsed onto the floor.

Last year, his net profit was 3 billion.

His

gross revenue was 4 billion.

Ten percent of that was 400 million.

He had already paid 1.5 billion.

Now add another 400 million.

1.9 billion in total. That meant an entire year of hard work was gone.

Sylvara picked up her glass and silently clinked it with Blake’s. No words were needed.

The prosecutor saw that Winson still wasn’t moving and reminded him coldly, “Duke Quill, do you have a problem calculating your annual revenue? Do you need us to do the math for you?”

“N-no! I’ll pay!” Winson blurted out. At that moment, regret crushed him. Why did he get greedy? If he had gone to Sylvara from the start and paid for proper authorization, none of this would have happened. No lawsuit. No fines.

The prosecutor stayed strictly professional. He bent down and held the holographic screen out in front of Winson.

Winson clenched his teeth until his molars ached. Blood filled his mouth. His hand shook violently as he made the transfer. 400 million.

Just as he thought the nightmare was finally over, the prosecutor confirmed the payment, stood up, and spoke again. “Duke Quill, your actions in the food industry-copying and infringement. -caused serious public impact.”

He paused, then continued, voice firm. “You also insulted a member of the royal family. By order of the Supreme Court, Quill House is to suspend operations for three months. You are sentenced to two months in detention.”

“What?!” Winson shouted. “When did I insult a royal family member? On what grounds are you shutting down Quill House?”

Three months of suspension.

That meant cutting off his entire income stream.

And in those three months, who knew how many new restaurants might rise up and replace ‘his?

Facing his protest, the prosecutor replied calmly, “This matter involves the confidential identity of a royal family member. It is not appropriate to explain it in public.” He gestured forward. “Once you are in court, the court will explain everything in detail. Duke Quill, please come with

us.”

No explanation. Not a single one.

Winson lay frozen on the floor. Then his head snapped to the side as he looked at Sylvara, eyes wide with shock and disbelief.

She was royalty, or rather, she had married into the royal family.

There were only two people in the imperial royal family. Relos and Agares.

Relos was already married. That left only one answer. Agares.

And suddenly, everything made sense. Was that why she called Blake, Agares’s mentor as daddy?

“Duke Quill,” the prosecutor said coldly, “please stand and come with us. If you resist, we are authorized to execute you on the spot.”

Winson’s body began to shake uncontrollably. This wasn’t just messing with the wrong person; he had provoked the sleeping giant.

A solid kick, so solid that he couldn’t crawl back up no matter how hard he tried:

The prosecutor noticed. He lifted his hand and motioned to the officers beside him. Two court
