Chapter 361 No Time to Dodge
Finished
Sylvara had not even finished saying the word “Perfect” when several heavy thuds echoed, the sound of bodies hitting the ground.
Blake poured cold water on her excitement. “Sweetheart it was dark out. Perfect conditions for dreaming.”
“Did they run into someone tough?” Sylvara asked as she looked over. The five burly men who had jumped out to rob someone were already down. Four of them lay sprawled on the ground. Only the leader, Bluebeard, was still standing, a heavy rocket launcher resting on his shoulder.
Blake stared for a long moment, then sucked in a sharp breath. “Not someone tough. That’s your dear honey.”
Sylvara froze in shock.
Her husband had bought her old clothes?
That didn’t make sense.
That outfit wasn’t just an outer robe.
It also included underwear.
Phil had explained that very clearly at the auction.
Why would her bargain-bin husband buy that set?
Unless her bargain-bin husband had some unspeakable embarrassing fetish?
“Tsk,” Blake clicked her tongue and continued. “MK-series heavy rocket launcher. What do you think, can your husband dodge that?”
Sylvara finally snapped out of the shock when she realized the man being robbed by Bluebeard was her husband. Her brain came back online. She stayed calm, crossed her arms, and nudged Blake with her elbow. “My husband was your student. You trained him. Whether he can dodge it or not, shouldn’t you know best?”
Blake slapped her own arm in annoyance. “Kid, that logic doesn’t hold. Agares guarded Kolar planet for over 10 years and only returned to Centria once. I don’t actually know him that well anymore.”
In other words, whether Agares was strong or weak now and whether he could dodge an MK heavy rocket launcher, Blake honestly had no idea.
Sylvara, no longer distracted by petting pandas and fully focused on business and protecting her cover, had her mind and eyes moving fast. “You sneaky bastard, Blake. Don’t think I don’t know what you’re try
believe my husband can’t handle a number two-ranked bandit.”
Blake fell silent.
Taunting didn’t work. Playing the wounded card didn’t work either.
What she needed was something fluffy.
Give her something soft and furry, and her brain would shut right down.

Chapter 361 No Time to Dodge
“Hand over the case, or I’m firing.” Bluebeard warned as he backed away, the MK-series heavy rocket launcher braced on his shoulder, aimed at Agares.
Finish
An informant from the auction house had tipped him of that someone had bought the outfit of the late War Goddess from ancient Earth, worth five billion. Robing 10 spaceships wouldn’t even come close to that kind of money, so he had brought his crew to take shot at it.
What he had not expected was to run into someone this dangerous. His brothers had not even had time to fight back before they were slammed to the ground. Worse, he had not even seen how the man had moved.
Agares held the case in one hand. His dark eyes were asleep and cold as the night as he looked at Bluebeard and the MK heavy launcher on his shoulder. When he spoke, his voice was low, flat, and emotionless. “Possession of prohibited heavy weapons under Troyan Empire law carries a minimum sentence of 30 years of forced labor on Barren Planet. Armed robbery with accomplices carries at least 20 years of imprisonment. Combined sentencing puts you at 50 years. Are you ready for that?”
Bluebeard, wearing a black stocking mask, felt his heartump. The man in front of him looked ordinary, but the pressure he gave off was terrifying. “Stop bluffing. I wasn’t born yesterday. Fifty years? Who are you trying to scare?”
Agares stepped forward twice.
Bluebeard stumbled back two steps, his legs shaking. “You … don’t come any closer. I really will fire.”
Agares didn’t slow down at all, clearly unconcerned about the MK launcher. “You rob people like it’s second nature, you’re carrying heavy firepower, and you’re wearing a black stocking mask. If I’m not mistaken, you’re one of the top five bandits on the interstellar bounty list.”
Bluebeard was stunned. With that level of disguise, how did this guy figure out he was top five on the bounty board?
Hearing her bargain-bin husband’s words through the comm, Sylvara froze for a moment. Then she lowered her voice and asked Blake, “Daddy, one black stocking mask and one heavy rocket launcher, and my husband somehow deduced Bluebeard was top five on the bounty list?”
Blake suddenly reached out and shoved her away. “You Heartless little brat. When you’re mad, you call me Blake the Bastard. When you’re happy, suddenly it’s Daddy. Why should I tell you anything?”
“You won’t tell me?” Sylvara raised her thumb, then grabbed Blake’s arm in one smooth motion. “Then don’t blame me for being rude.”
Blake’s eyes widened in alarm. “What are you planning do?”
Sylvara flashed a grin. “Redirecting fire and catching bandits while grabbing the loot. Sorry about this, Daddy.”
With that, she swung Blake hard. Blake flew out of the bushes like a tossed chicken, straight toward Bluebeard.
Sylvara moved even faster, her body cutting through the trees like lightning as she headed straight for Agares. Her targets were the case in Agares’s hand and Bluebeard himself.
