DONOVAN
Donovan parked the vehicle at a small gas station in the town closest to Bluemoon pack lafels and cut the engine. Finally. He stepped out and took a deep breath, glad to no longer be trapped in an enclosed space with the five unhinged creatures.
A second vehicle pulled up alongside his and stopped. Porter, his Gamma, was behind the wheel and gave Donovan a curt nod but didn’t step out.
They’d needed to bring two vehicles, as no wolf would willingly get in a car with The Riaghaire, and they needed one that didn’t smell of vampire, fae, and everything in-between when they arrived on pack lands. The last thing they needed was to tip someone off that they’d brought friends.
“You’re good from here?,” the Alpha asked, looking over at the Kaleidoscope staff. The sun was still up, the longest day of the year almost upon them, meaning it wouldn’t be dark for a few hours, and the vampire still looked unaffected. He did keep close to the vehicle’s shadow but that didn’t change the fact that he was outside during the day and what skin wasn’t covered neither burned nor blistered. It made Donovan shudder
“Yeah,” Claire nodded once, shielding her eyes from the sun. “We can get onto pack lands ourselves.”
“They’ll have wolves patrolling the borders,” Donovan warned them.
“Your concern is noted,” Marlow assured the Alpha wolf with a smirk, “but we’ve got it covered. Worry about yourself.”
Donovan grunted, caught between wanting and not wanting to know how they planned to sneak onto Bluemoon pack lands. After what little he’d gleaned
from the conversations he’d overheard during the trip, the less he knew, the better.
There were no good byes exchanged as the Alpha slid into the passenger’s seat of his Gamma’s vehicle.
“You sure about this?” Porter asked, voice low as he pulled onto the road, leaving the ragtag group from Hell behind. No other wolf had come, which was as planned. If they showed up with too many in tow it would raise suspicions.
Letting out an annoyed grumble, Donovan replied, “Not even a little. But I don’t have much choice in the matter. I refuse to live the rest of my life wondering if I could’ve made a difference. And, honestly, Alpha Hendricks pisses me off.”
Porter nodded slowly. “As long as you’ve made up your mind.”
Donovan glanced at his Gamma. The man had a level head and little was able to phase him. The more dangerous a situation, the calmer he became. It made him an invaluable wolf to have by any Alpha’s side.
They pulled up to the Bluemoon pack house twenty minutes later. Standing outside to greet them was Alpha Hendricks and his Beta, Benedict. Neither looked particularly happy to be receiving the two Mchezaji pack wolves. That was fine; Donovan wasn’t particularly happy to be there either.
“Alpha Donovan,” Hendricks called out as the Mchezaji Alpha exited the vehicle and began walking towards them. “Your request to attend the meeting concerning Beatrice was kind of last minute.”
Donovan had to work at keeping his voice relaxed, nonchalant as he answered. “I figured since my pack played a part in all this, I should see it through to the end.”
“Ah, Well, Sorry to break it to you but the Council has already ruled on the matter.”
That wasn’t a surprise. Donovan was certain they wouldn’t postpone the meeting just so he could attend. “What was the ruling?”

Chapter 156-
“She’s to be executed at midnight.”
The fucker didn’t even look bothered as he spoke about his fated mate’s impending death. Disgusting. If he could have gotten away with it, Donovan would have punched the mutt in his pretty boy face. More than once. Instead, he nodded. “I figured. That means I’m suppose to deliver this to you.”
Gamma Porter held out a sealed envelope, offering it to the Bluemoon Alpha without a word. Hendricks accepted it, looking bemused as he tore it open. Inside was a handwritten letter he read in silence. What caught Donovan’s attention, however, was the Beta’s reaction.
Beta Benedict had leaned in to scan the letter as his Alpha read but suddenly stiffened, His nostrils flared as his eyes narrowed. Reaching out, he relieved
his Alpha of the envelope, bringing it up to his nose for a second. “Who gave you this letter?,” he asked, voice low.
