Chapter 204
Benedict stood, favouring his left front leg as he moved to the cot in the corner of the room
see? He had a cot, which was leaps and bounds above wha the Bluemoon pack had to offer their prisoners and pulled off a sheet. It took some finagling on his part to throw it over himself but, once he manage the wolf shifted to his human form.
Oh. Right. The man was naked. Beatrice had forgotten that part about shifters. Not that she’d witnessed anyone shift from wolf to human; she’d only eve seen the reverse and that involved torn clothes. Of course he’d be naked when he shifted back. Fortunately, Benedict hadn’t forgotten and made sure his were covered. Point to him for having forethought.
Though he was human again, the Beta stayed silent as he sat and stared at the floor. It was like watching a guilty child reflect on whatever mischief he’d
been caught doing.
“So, how are things?,” Beatrice asked in an attempt to break the silence.
Benedict’s shoulders stiffened. “Is that really what you want to ask?” His voice was low, almost sad.
“Nope. Not even close.”
He sighed. “Just say what you came to say and get it over with.”
Beatrice stared at him for a full minute before speaking again. “Claire’s your mate, isn’t she.” It wasn’t a question; it didn’t need to be a question. His reaction to the letter Donovan had delivered back at the Bluemoon pack house – the letter Claire had penned – and then how he’d acted upon seeing he person said it all. What other explanation was there?
His shoulders sagged. “Yes,” he whispered. His answer wasn’t followed by begging or pleading or profusely apologizing for everything he’d put her through Benedict had already accepted that she would never allow anything to happen between them and his reaction was all she needed to see to make up her
mind.
“What’s your plan?”
Benedict frowned at the question, daring to look up and meet her gaze. “Plan…? For what?”
Beatrice raised her shoulders a fraction of an inch, “Claire. What’s your plan for her?”
He continued to stare, his frown deepening. “I don’t… understand. Aren’t you going to torce me to. to.”
“Answer the question, Benny Boy,” she told him with a roll of her eyes.
“…1… had hoped. But she would never accept me…”
“And?”
Benedict finally averted his gaze, his eyes now on his lap as he opened and closed his moured band. The wounds looked red and angry, but they of heated a fair bit from what they must have been “Even if she was willing to give me a chance, you would never allow d
“Oh?,” Beatrice s plied, raising her brow “Is that what you think?”
Another long moment of silence followed her question it was obvious this conversation wasn’t going the way the beta expected and he was thoroughis confused by its current course

Chapter 204-
“Are you! saying you would…?”
“No. I’m not saying either of those things,” she explained. “It’s not my decision to make. You think Claire is comfortable with Riaghaire? She isn’t. But she knows it’s not her place to interfere
Benedict snuck a glance at the vampire before turning back to Beatrice. “So…”
“I’m saying it’s Claire you need to convince, not me. So what your plan, Benedict?”
