Chapter 79
“Is this true?,” they inquired; looking over at Riaghaire, but Beatrice knew they were actually speaking to her and not the vampire state to answer questions at the moment.
Riaghaire wasn’t in at
“Hendricks took me against my will, arked me without my consent, and was going to force me to mark him,” Beatrice blurted out on a jumble of words
“I see. And the nightwalker?”
“Uh…,” she hesitated but decided honesty would be the best policy. “He was being held it their dungeon so I, uh, set him free to stop the Luna ceremony Instead of knocking me out and escaping, he took me with him.”
The person let out a low laugh. “Has he fed on you?”
“No. Not once.”
“Now that… is interesting. Well, wolf? What have you to say? Is any of that true? Or was it all fabricated by mesmer?”

Hendricks was staring at the floor, the muscles in his neck bunching together as he fought some unseen battle. “It… she is my mate. If is my right to have her, to keep her safe.”
“Ah, yes. That. Well, that may be true with another of your kin, but when it crosses the line between species, the rules are never the same.”

Beatrice perked up at this “What do you mean?”
They let out yet another chuckle. “Calm, child. First we must deal with the issue at hand. Wolf, what is your wame?”
“Hendricks Bluemoon,” he replied through gritted teeth.
“Oh, you are a Bluemoon? How amusing. So glad to see the Bluemoon lineage lives on, even if you are… a bit uneducated in the ways of the world”
The wolf growled, glaring at them out of the corner of his eyes.
“Hendricks Bluemoon, I deny you and yours permission to enter my sanctuary henceforth. Until such time as the debt of your transgression is repaid, none of you may step foot upon this land come first light.”
“You will punish all wolves for this?,” he snapped. “Because I want my rightful mate?”
“Yes,” was all they said before turning their back to him. “Get him some pants or something and kick him out with the rest. We will be closed for the
remainder of the night to clean up.”
Harry appeared, grabbing Hendricks by the shoulders. The wolf was on his feet in the blink of an eye, growling at the sasquatch, whose own growl was far
scarier.
‘I will call Bobby in to deal with you, as they did the others, Hendricks Bluemoon,” the nameless person warned. “All those who stand before a baykok rarely
survive, and those who do are never as they were.”
Once Hendricks was gone, they turned and took a step into the storage room through the doorless doorway, only to be greeted with a deadly hiss from Riaghaire. “I see…,” they mused, glancing towards Beatrice before looking back at the vampire. “I will not harm that which is yours, of that you have my
word.”
