Chapter 13 Building Her Own Tools
“We don’t want people thinking we’re mistreating her, do we?
“Besides, she’s about to start at Westbrook Academy.
“Let’s not give anyone a reason to say the Powell family doesn’t take care of their own daughter.
“Get her a car.
“And arrange for a driver while you’re at it.
“We can’t afford to give anyone even the smallest excuse to talk badly about the Powell family.”
He stressed his words with a firmer tone.

Like Adrian, Daniel cared deeply about the family’s reputation and how things looked from the outside.
Isaac’s expression was reluctant as he responded, “Fine.”
It wasn’t that he really meant to keep her from having a car–he just didn’t see why she needed one.
She should just stay home–why was she always running off?
But like his father said, she’d be starting at Westbrook Academy soon, and not giving her a car would look
bad.
If people saw that, they’d think the Powells were either too cheap or too broke to provide a car and a driver for their own daughter.
While Isaac and Daniel kept talking, Isabella had no idea what they were saying.
Once she was back in her room, she immediately locked the door and pulled out the items from the small case she’d brought with her.
These had been specially configured for her by the staff at the electronics store.
Everything came as a complete set.
Her new phone and computer were inside.
Now, Isabella took out some of the components and accessories, and using the specialized tools that had come with them, she took apart both the phone and the computer until they were reduced to a pile of
parts.
She casually set the pieces aside and started picking out what she needed to begin putting things back together.
About half an hour later, a palm–sized mini computer sat in front of her.

In addition, she’d reassembled her phone and computer, and both the outsides and the insides had been completely transformed.
Beside Isabella’s fingers were several miniature signal receivers.
She clipped one onto her ear–it looked like a Bluetooth headset–and as she focused her concentration, extending her psychic sense into it, she quickly “saw” the nearby phone and computer.
Her concentration seeped into the devices, and soon she had them running on their own.
Perfect.
Isabella nodded in satisfaction as she watched the phone and computer operate smoothly without her touching them.
With the limited materials she had on hand, this was the best she could do for now.
If she’d had access to better equipment–military–grade stuff–she could have made something even more advanced.
But still…
Isabella’s brows furrowed slightly.
The electronics, components, and technology from this era were way too outdated.
A lot of her own ideas couldn’t be realized yet.
Once she had enough funds later on, she could think about starting her own tech company.
But…
Isabella’s brow creased briefly, and she let out a small sigh. I’m also seriously short on talented people.
She couldn’t do absolutely everything herself, could she?
Well…
She’d figure it out when the time came.
With that thought, Isabella used her concentration, blending it with her psychic ability, to pull up the financial market interface on her computer.
She was used to working this way.
In fact, in the twenty–fourth century, anyone with abilities used them to handle tasks–people rarely did things manually.
Of course, lower–level abilities couldn’t pull off things like this.
It just so happened that Isabella’s ability was top–tier–the highest level of psychic aptitude.
As Isabella used her ability to open her trading account, she noticed something unusual happening in the
