James stormed off, his fury trailing behind him like thick smoke, carrying that ridiculous. pride and his socalled gracealong.

The heavy Alpha presence that had hung in the air vanished the moment he left, and only then did Jewel’s stiff form finally give way. She broke down, trembling as she sobbed, collapsing into my arms.

Ms. Cindysniff How could he treat you that way? How dare he talk about making you bear his childIt’s humiliating!Jewel’s small shoulders shook violently, her tears choking her breaths.

I gently rubbed her back, feeling my heart chill but softened by her fierce loyalty.

Silly girl, stop crying.I brushed the tears off her cheeks, my tone calm but firm, carrying a strength she couldn’t ignore. I’m Cindy, daughter of Alpha Benjamin of the Northmere Silverpeak Packa Spencer. I’m no weakling. If he looks down on me, it’s because he’s blind. If he thinks he can shame me, it’s because he’s ignorant. None of this will ever break me.”

Helping Jewel to her feet, I locked eyes with her and spoke each word slowly and clearly, From now on, I’ll live for myself and for everyone who truly loves me and deserves my love. And I’ll live so well, so much better than anyone else, that one day James will look back at what he did today and regret it deeply.”

Diana’s voice echoed proudly in my mind. Well said, Cindy! That’s the true spirit of the Northmere Silver Wolves! We don’t need anyone’s pity or charity!

After calming Jewel, I didn’t stay long at the Royal Court.

The BondBreaking Orderfrom King Ryken was the biggest win from this trip, but breaking a soul bond completely demanded a special ceremony at the right time.

For now, there were more urgent things to deal with.

I took Jewel back to the Duskfang Pack.

The mood in the pack felt offmany members looked at me with mixed feelings, curiosity mingled with cold avoidance.

James had clearly spread the news about his engagement to Evelyn and her soontobe role as the new Luna.

I ignored all of it and headed straight to the Moonwhisper Residence.

In the following days, I kept my routine visits to the Serene Residence, tending to Priscilla’s daily needs.

Her attitude toward me remained kind, filled with concern and wellwishes, but she never once mentioned James or Evelyn, as if nothing had changed. That fake kindness made me scowl silently.

One day, the reclusive werewolf doctor, Rupert Garraway, arrived to check on Priscilla.

It had taken every favor my father left me to convince Rupert to come here.

His medical skill was extraordinary, but his temperament was just as difficult. Without the respect he owed my father, he never would have lowered himself to treat a mere pack elder like Priscilla, who was clearly nearing the end of her life.

I accompanied Rupert as he left the Serene Residence.

Cindy.Rupert paused and fixed me with his sharp gaze, his voice soft but heavy with a sigh. I’ve heard some things about the Duskfang Pack. You’re too kindhearted. You don’t need to be so good to that family.”

His words stirred something inside me, and I whispered, Rupert, what do you mean?

Hmph,he snorted, sounding cold. When I agreed to treat James’s Priscilla, it was mostly out of respect for Benjamin and you. But now that you’ve done your part, that favor has run its course. That old woman’s life has already stretched as far as it can. I won’t be coming back.

His statement was a silent judgment on how little time Priscilla had left.

I wasn’t shocked. Her body had long since passed its prime.

Thank you for telling me, and for all your help over the years,” I spoke sincerely.

He waved me off, then studied me with a long, thoughtful look. You seem different than before.

I met his gaze steadily. I’ll be honestI’ve asked King Ryken to break my destined bond with James. Soon, it will be over.

A flicker of surprise flashed in his eyes before settling into relief and support. Oh? Breaking a destined bond? That’s not something any ordinary female werewolf would dare. The process will be painfulbut I support you! Sometimes you have to cut away rotten flesh early to make room for new growth.”

His encouragement warmed me, as there was at least one person who understood and supported me in this cold pack.
