Chapter 141 I Would Break Cindy’s Legs
Chapter 141 I Would Break Cindy’s Legs
Prince Adam’s POV:
I stood where I was, hands behind my back, my face calm as I watched her lose control.
Scenes like this were nothing new to me. I had grown up with them.

“Mother, please watch your words,” I said calmly, as if we were talking about the weather. “Cindy is a grand duchess. She is a decorated war hero who earned the Goldfang Medal. She isn’t some abandoned woman. She is my fiancée.”
“I don’t accept that!” She snapped, her anger flaring even hotter. She grabbed a silver candle holder from the table and raised it, ready to throw. When she met my cold stare, she slammed it back down instead. “As long as I’m alive, she will never step into your bedroom! If she dares to come, I’ll have her legs broken and throw her into the palace moat!”
That was when I finally let out a short laugh.
“Mother.” I stepped forward, a faint, mocking smile on my lips. “You clearly don’t understand my fiancée at all. On the battlefield, she took down 300 vampires by herself. In her combat form, even most Alpha fighters wouldn’t dare get close to her.”
I looked down at her, at a woman who knew nothing but how to rage. “With all due respect, even if every guard in this palace attacked her together and even if you joined them, you still wouldn’t be able to do anything to her. Break her legs? Do you hear how absurd you sound?”
“Y-you’re siding with an outsider and humiliating your mother?” She trembled, tears spilling down her face. “What kind of spell did that woman put on you? She’s damaged goods! Used up and thrown away by James! You pick up what others don’t want―aren’t you disgusted?”
“Enough!”
My shout cut straight through her sobbing.
A powerful royal pressure surged from me, the absolute authority of the bloodline flooding the room and crushing the restless air.
She staggered back and collapsed onto the sofa.
“Mother,” I said coldly, my eyes sharp as blades, “this is the last time I will hear those words from your mouth. If you ever insult her like that again, don’t blame me for forgetting we are mother and son.”
I adjusted the jeweled cuff at my sleeve, my tone turning distant again. “And about the throne, you keep using it to threaten me. If you think marrying her makes me unfit to inherit, then fine. You have other sons. You even have Uncle Niall. Support them instead
“I’m not that attached to the crown anyway.”
I turned and walked toward the door without another glance.
