Chapter 165 The Real Revenge
Prince Adam’s POV:
Cindy burst out laughing. This time she was truly happy. Her eyes curved like crescents.

“Alright, stop forcing it.” She smiled and shook her head, then took the red, spicy dishes and moved them in front of herself, pushing the plate of stir-fried vegetables and the mushroom soup toward me instead.
“Waiter, please bring a cup of warm milk,” she ordered. There was a hint of care in her voice that was hard to miss. “Add a little honey. It helps with the spiciness.”
I watched her handle everything so smoothly. Being looked after made my embarrassment fade. Instead, I felt warm inside.
I took a big gulp of the milk that was served soon after. The smell of milk and the sweetness of the honey calmed my hurt mouth.
Looking at the woman across from me, eating heartily with lips flushed red, a strange sour feeling suddenly rose in my chest.
I thought about the things I found in the investigation reports.
It was about her year at the Duskfang Pack.
They said the old woman at the Duskfang Pack was the hardest person to please. She had to drink nasty medicine every day. Cindy had to brew it herself and check the temperature. She even tried different ways to make the medicine taste better just to get the old woman to drink it.
Back then, was she taking care of that old woman just as carefully as she was taking care of me now?
But what did she get in return? She was insulted, betrayed, and kicked out of the house.
Evelyn-that so-called true love-not only stole her husband but also let her family bully her.
Bang!
The cup in my hand hit the table hard, making a loud noise.
Cindy startled. She still had a piece of chicken in her mouth as she looked up at me blankly. “What’s wrong? Is it not good?”
“No,” I took a deep breath, trying to push down the anger in my chest. “I just think Evelyn’s punishment was too light.”
The private room fell silent for a moment.
Only the faint sound of wind outside the window could be heard.
Cindy put down her fork and elegantly wiped her mouth with a napkin.

Chapter 165 The Real Revenge
Her eyes, which were full of laughter a moment ago, were now as calm as still water.
“Why bring that up all of a sudden?” she asked. Her tone was as casual as if she was talking about tomorrow’s weather.

“It’s just that I think it’s unfair for you,” I looked at her. The beast inside me roared. My wolf spirit was angry for its mate. “You suffered so much at the Dustfang Pack. That old woman tortured you, and that blind idiot James couldn’t see how good you are. And just taking away Evelyn’s military rank is too easy on her. If it were up to me, I’d throw her into the colosseum and let her know what real cruelty is.”
Cindy looked at how worked up I was and suddenly smiled.
It wasn’t a polite smile. It was a smile that showed she understood how the world worked.
“Adam,” she called my name softly. Her voice had a calming power. “Killing Evelyn is easy. With my skills or your power, she could disappear from this world without us even lifting a finger.”
She reached out and added some hot tea to my cup.
“But that isn’t revenge.”
Her
gaze became deep. “Back then, Evelyn and James insulted me because they thought I was nothing without the Dustfang Pack. They thought I was just a weak girl that could only survive by leaning on a man. If I use power to kill her now, I’m lowering myself. It would only prove that I really am cruel and heartless like they said.”
“The real revenge,” she said softly, “is living a thousand, even ten thousand times better than them.”
