I turned my head and saw Margaret’s daughter, Lily, walking over with a young girl I did not recognize.
That girl… I had to admit, she was quite pretty.
She was wearing the latest fashion, a pink fringe dress with a daring cut that showed off her smooth neck and rounded shoulders.
Her skin was pale and soft, like a freshly peeled egg, and her eyes were bright and watery, the kind that naturally stirred the urge to protect.
This was what a proper young woman should look like.
Unlike that Cindy, who was stiff all over, like a block of stone.
“Greetings, Your Majesty,” the girl said, her curtsy slightly exaggerated. When she lifted her head and saw me, her expression turned into pure shock, almost to the point of losing
composure.
Her mouth parted slightly, as if she had witnessed some kind of miracle.
“This… this is Queen Isabella?” she murmured, not loudly, yet clearly enough for those nearby to hear. “Oh my goodness, I thought an angel who served the Moon Goddess had descended. Lily, you lied to me. You said we were coming to pay our respects to Queen Isabella as an elder, but this … this Queen Isabella looks barely older than me!”
She pressed a hand to her chest, looking as if she had been struck by my beauty. “Your Majesty, your skin is whiter than snow, even more delicate than ours. I … I do not even know how to speak properly anymore.”
The words were blatant, but to my ears, they sounded sweeter than the finest music.
What I cared about most was age
and
appearance.
Every single sentence from this girl hit exactly where it pleased me.
“Heheheh…” I laughed, gently fanning myself with my feather fan. “You really know how to flatter. Which family are you from?”
“Your Majesty, I am Hannah Nolan of the Duskfang Pack. I am James Nolan’s younger sister,”

she replied shyly, lowering her head.
Duskfang Pack?
My interest stirred slightly.
That was the family that had driven Cindy out.

I had heard they had fallen into financial trouble recently and that the entire pack was in decline.
Still, considering how sweet this girl was, I decided not to hold her background against her.
“You’re a sensible child,” I said in high spirits as I turned to Martha. “Martha, bring me the deep-sea red coral bracelet.”
Martha stepped forward with a velvet box.
I personally took out the priceless bracelet and fastened it around Hannah’s wrist.
The red coral looked striking against her pale skin.
“This bracelet is yours,” I said with a smile. “Come to the palace often and keep me company. I like children who speak sweetly and honestly.”
“Th-thank you
for Your Majesty’s generosity!” Hannah’s face flushed bright red with excitement. She dropped to her knees and bowed deeply. “I will remember Your Majesty’s guidance and do my utmost to serve you in the future and help ease your

This kind of blatant flattery was actually looked down upon in high society.
worries!”
But I was in a good mood, and since I had already rewarded her, no one dared to openly object.
The banquet continued.
We settled onto velvet sofas and sipped premium coffee shipped in from the south.
“Hm? Why hasn’t the Duchess of Silverpeak arrived?”
An unwelcome voice suddenly spoke up.
It was a Luna who had just arrived from her own territory and clearly did not understand the
