Chapter 46 Lone Wolf
Chapter 46 Lone Wolf
Cindy’s POV:
That night, I was no longer Cindy. I was the ghost of the Silverpeak Pack.
The moment I slipped over the capital’s outer wall, I felt the effects of Nullwater fading fast.

Diana stirred inside me, restless and burning. She wanted out. She wanted to run. She wanted to tear away the court rules that suffocate her and the fake mask we had been forced to wear.
“Let me out, Cindy!” She roared deep in my mind, like waves crashing into icebergs. “For our pack. For revenge. Run!”
I plunged into the forest outside the city and dropped to my knees in an empty stretch of snow.
With a low, held-back growl, my bones cracked and popped. Muscles swelled and stretched. Silver-white fur burst through my skin like steel needles.
My view dropped low to the ground and then sharpened. The night turned bright as day through a wolf’s
eyes.
I became a massive silver wolf.
This was the purest bloodline of the Silverpeak Pack. This was Diana’s true form.
“Southreach,” I told her. That was my only command.
The next second, my legs kicked off hard. Frozen ground exploded under my claws, dirt and ice spraying into the air.
The wind screamed past my ears, slicing through the night like blades.
From the Royal Court to Southreach, a fast horse would need ten days. An army would take twenty.
I had five.
This battle was not just a test of strength. It was burning through my life itself.
On the first day, I crossed the plains around the capital.
On the second, I tore through rolling hills.
On the third day, a blizzard hit.
The north wind cut into me like countless ice knives; even a werewolf’s body felt the cold bite deep.
Snow blinded my eyes and erased all scent trails. I had to trust Diana’s instincts to stay on course.
“Left!” Diana shouted in my head. “That’s the wind. Follow it!”

My lungs felt like they were filled with hot coals. Every breath burned.

The pads of my paws were sliced open by sharp ice, leaving bloody prints behind, but the snow swallowed them almost at once.
Hunger clenched my stomach like a fist.
I had no time to hunt.
When I reached a frozen river, I smashed the ice with my claws and drank greedily. The water was painfully cold. I chewed and swallowed chunks of ice just to trick my stomach into easing its cramps.
“Hold on, Cindy,” Diana said. Her voice was weaker now, but steady. “Think about what that idiot Evelyn did. Think about the innocent people who are about to be slaughtered. Think about your nephew. If Ray’s still alive, he shouldn’t grow up in a world crushed under vampire boots.”
“I won’t stop,” I answered instinctively, clenching my jaw.
On the fourth night, I ran into a pack of rogues.
They were outcasts thrown away by other packs. Thin, desperate, with green light burning in their eyes.
They saw one lone wolf and thought they’d found an easy meal.
