Chapter 132
Maurice

I paced the length of the room for what felt like the hundredth time, my nerves frayed and my mind refusing to settle. What exactly did Bella want from me now? What was her endgame? If it hadn’t
been for Alpha Osborne’s intervention, I wouldn’t have known she’d even involved herself with the
kidnapping of my mate. Somehow, that man had stepped in for me once more.
This made it the third time I owed him my gratitude.
The first had been when Bella nearly killed me, and Osborne found me in time.
The second was when the entire business collapsed and I thought everything was over-he revived
it without expecting anything in return.
And now… he had gone himself to rescue my mate, telling me not to worry.
Osborne Cliff wasn’t just a good alpha; he was a good man. A man whose presence commanded respect. A man I hoped, someday, I could measure up to.
I reached out to Octavia again through our mind link, unable to wait any longer.
“What’s happening?” I asked, my brows drawn tight.
Her voice came through immediately, warm but exasperated.
“Right now they’re redoing my ruined makeup. And did I mention I won’t be wearing the same dress? They’ve brought another one for me.”
I blinked.
“You’ve lost me,” I admitted.
She chuckled softly.
“Alpha Osborne rescued me and handed me over to his assistant. And his assistant refuses to let me show up at my own wedding looking like a disaster, So… everything is being done all over
again.”
I didn’t even notice when a smile broke over my face. My shoulders loosened as I let out a deep
breath and crouched down.
“You got me there,” I muttered, shaking my head.
Her laugh danced through the link, easing every knot of tension inside me.

“Just calm down, Maurice. You and I will tie the knot today.”

Her confidence sent warmth through my chest, and I found myself laughing too. Today might not have begun the way I expected-but it would end well. And I knew exactly who I had to thank for
that.
But before anything else… I needed to face my guests.
Octavia
I went through the routine again, but it didn’t feel stressful this time-my mind was completely
fixed on my mating ceremony. That was all I could think about. Being with the man who taught me
not to fear, because he had faced his own trials and survived them.
I don’t even know when exactly I fell in love with him. I still remember the days when just his presence made me tremble, yet now, going a single day without seeing him feels unbearable.
Even throughout the kidnapping, he never once left my thoughts. My precious mate-the one I
love.
“We’re all done,” the designers said. I honestly don’t know how they managed to put everything together so quickly. After Steve called for a new dress and makeup, they arrived in no time, and now here I was-wearing a much simpler makeup look because there wasn’t time, yet it felt more
vibrant than the last. It brought out my real face.
And the dress… It fits me perfectly. Diamonds lined every corner of it. “It’s time,” Steve said, and I nodded with a smile as we hurried off to marry the man of my dreams, Maurice.
The drive didn’t take long. Every vehicle on the road had been stopped just to get me there as fast as possible. I won’t lie-it thrilled me a little. I didn’t know I liked this kind of drama until today.
As for Mistress Bella… Well, I’ll deal with her later. Today, my focus should be on what’s waiting for
When we arrived, they escorted me to the large double doors. My white veil covered my face, and right then my father rushed toward me. “Octavia, what took you so long?” he asked. I didn’t want to frighten him, so I simply said, “That’s not important. I have a man waiting for me.” He nodded, offered me his arm, and I took it as the massive doors opened.
Wedding bells echoed as I stepped in. The tired guests rose to their feet while I walked down the
aisle.
My eyes stayed fixed ahead, drawn straight to Maurice. His face was stern, but I knew it was just his way of keeping himself composed. Among the standing guests was Alpha Osborne and his family-he must have arrived after settling things with Bella.

When I finally reached Maurice, he gave me a gentle smile and took my hand. “You look the most beautiful,” he murmured. I blushed. “You do too.” His smile grew wider, and together we turned to
face the officiating priest.
It didn’t take too long before the ceremony came to an end, and just like that-we were wedded. The moment felt surreal, almost like a dream I never dared to imagine for myself. Everyone around us was smiling so widely, radiating so much joy that it warmed my heart. I never thought I would ever experience happiness like this, but here I was, standing in the middle of it.
We moved into the reception hall, and the atmosphere shifted into something even more lively. Food and drinks were passed around generously, filling the room with warm scents and chatter. Some guests drifted straight to the dance floor, eager to start the celebration, while others laughed in groups, reconnecting and sharing stories. The whole place felt alive-bright, festive, and filled with the kind of laughter that made my chest light.
I danced with my father first, his hands steady on mine as he tried-and failed-to hold back tears. Then I danced with my mother, who looked at me as if she were seeing her little girl and a grown woman all at once. Even my sister pulled me into a hug before we danced. Every second was filled with genuine smiles, the kind that made me feel loved in ways I didn’t even know I needed.
And then came the moment I danced with my husband-my breathtaking husband. Maurice held me close, his hand warm on my back. He leaned down and whispered, “You weren’t too scared, were you?” His voice was soft, almost shy. I answered truthfully, “I was… but everything went well in the end.” He nodded slowly, as if he had been waiting to hear that.
“I almost went crazy when you were kidnapped,” he confessed, biting down on his lower lip the way he always does when he’s holding back emotion. “I don’t think I’ve ever been that afraid. But now… I’m just grateful you’re here, safe, and in my arms.” He paused, his eyes searching mine. “And Octavia-I do love you. I mean that with my whole heart.”
I felt my throat tighten as the tears pushed against my makeup. Words like that, especially from him-weren’t things a person heard every day. “And I love you too, Maurice,” I whispered back, my voice trembling. “Now and always.”
Just as the words left my lips, the music slowly came to a stop, and I knew immediately the night
was gonna be a long one.
