Side Story 32-2
And so time passed until the remaining six months were up and my program finally came to an end. I had to say goodbye to the friends I’d made, the new bonds I’d formed, and that day I packed up my bags, waiting for the car that would come pick me up.
Randy stepped out of the car wearing a mischievous smile the moment he saw me and walked over. “You look dignified now,” he teased, and I could tell he was fighting the urge to grin.
Guards rushed over to grab my luggage as Randy and I began walking. “And you are still as poky as ever,” I shot back. He chuckled, low and knowing. “Speaking of poky…” he said as we slid into the
car.
He cleared his throat like he had been dying to say something. “Six months ago, when someone returned from visiting you…” I narrowed my eyes as he went on, “…he carried a weird, very, very strong smell for days or should I say weeks.” Then his gaze dropped boldly to my stomach. “I honestly thought you’d be pregnant by now.”
I hissed sharply and shook my head, and the bastard had the audacity to laugh.
I looked at him properly then and noticed how bright he seemed-glowing even. “Speaking of which… you look like someone who’s found his mate,” I said, and his eyes shot wide open. “Did Abel tell you that?” he demanded quickly. I snorted. “So it is true. But no, he didn’t say anything.” And I burst out laughing.
“What’s funny?” he asked, raising a brow because he realized I was teasing him.
“The look on your face-‘did Abel tell you that?” I mimicked him, and Randy groaned.
“I see,” he muttered, “that school has sharpened your tongue.”
Maybe it had. Maybe it really had carved confidence into me in ways I hadn’t noticed until now.
A change of environment truly does wonders.
“Well, now that you’re finally coming back, you’ll need to start learning your duties-ruling beside
him,” he said, voice turning serious. I nodded quietly.
“As you’ve probably guessed, Pamela has given birth… and it’s a boy.”
My jaw tightened. I see, so they see that now as a bigger threat.
But honestly, I didn’t care for those political games. Titles, succession, Pamela-none of that frightened me. Not his uncle, not anyone. No one could take Abel’s position unless they had a
death wish.

My fists clenched. I would make sure of it.
Just because we didn’t have an heir yet doesn’t mean we wouldn’t eventually.
There was no threat anywhere-not as long as I was breathing.
After the long hours in the air, we finally landed and arrived at the mansion. The moment we
stepped out of the car, the maids hurried toward us, bowing their heads respectfully.
“This way, Luna,” one of them said, guiding me forward.
“I’ll see you later,” Randy called after me, and I waved before following the maids to my room.
As soon as we entered, the staff began rushing around anxiously.
“Are you sure you’re not hungry, Luna? Would you like to rest?” one asked.
Honestly, all I wanted was a little space, so I smiled politely.
“You can all leave. If I need anything, I’ll call,” I told them. They bowed again and slipped out quietly.
Randy had mentioned on the plane that Abel had gone out for an important meeting, so I already
knew he wouldn’t be there to greet me.
I decided to use the time to rest. I lay flat on my stomach on the bed and let out a long breath. I
must have been more tired than I realized, because before I knew it, my eyes closed and I drifted
off.
