“Hey, Mr. Chester,” I laughed softly playfully, trying to pull away, “it’s already five minutes past lunch
break. I have to go.”
“I don’t want you to go,” he murmured, his lips brushing against my neck.
I shivered slightly. “That tickles…”
“Can’t you stay just a little longer?” he complained.
I shook my head. “Stop acting like a baby.”
I tried to free myself, but he only tightened his hold.
“No, please just five more minutes, Idara,” he begged.
I cupped his face firmly, making him look at me..
“Do you want my colleagues to think I’m not serious about my job just because I married their
CEO?”
His expression hardened slightly. “They wouldn’t dare say that to your face.”
“No, they won’t,” I replied calmly. “But they’ll still say it.”
He didn’t argue further.
Instead, he pulled me right back into another hug.
And yes… he took those extra five minutes.
When he finally walked me to the door, I thought I was free.
But just as I reached for the handle, he grabbed my hand, spun me around, and crashed his lips
onto mine again.
I melted instantly.
His kiss was deeper this time, his tongue sliding against mine, leaving me breathless,
When he finally pulled away, he whispered against my lips, “I love you, Idara.”
My face grew hot from shyness.
“I love you too,” I replied softly.
He opened the door for me, and I stepped out.
The moment it closed behind me, I exhaled deeply.

Ralia approached and bowed slightly.
“You’ll be coming with me to my mother’s after work,” I told her.
“As you wish, madam,” she replied.
Back at the office, Eliot and Faye were already seated.
I returned to my desk, but Eliot soon stood up and handed me a file, smiling.
“Well, I won’t ask where you had lunch,” he joked, “but I need my old buddy back.”
I laughed.
“I’m still here. Things just… changed a little,” I said, gesturing lightly.

He shook his head. “Nah, I think it changed a lot. Looking at the CEO, he seems like the possessive
type. If I want to keep my job, I better give the married woman some space.”
I smiled.
“And don’t forget my invitation,” he added.
“You’ll get it,” I promised.
He wasn’t wrong about Helio.
And I knew I’d miss what I had with Eliot. He was the only real friend I made here.
Faye, on the other hand, acted like I didn’t even exist.
By closing time, I left with Ralia trailing behind me.
We took the elevator down, and as we stepped out, I was surprised to see Mr. Gabe already
waiting.
The moment he saw me, he bowed slightly.
I felt instantly embarrassed.
“You don’t have to do that,” I said quickly.
He shook his head. “You should start getting used to it.”
I didn’t even know how to respond to that.
“I’ll be taking you to your mother,” he added as we walked out.
“Thank you. I really appreciate it,” I said.
He nodded.

On the way, I texted my mom to let her know we were coming, so I wasn’t surprised when we arrived and saw her already waiting outside.
I got out of the car immediately and rushed into her arms.
