Chapter 65

The moment I rushed into the room, the sight that met me was enough to freeze me in place. Aina stood there, clutching the bed sheet tightly against her body, faint streaks of blood staining her skin. My mother, who had followed closely behind, gasped loudly-and that was when my eyes dropped to Walton. He was sprawled on the floor, chest heaving faintly, barely clinging to life.

I moved quickly to Ainá, scanning her body with frantic eyes, desperate to see if she had been harmed in any way.

“I’m not hurt… he is,” she said softly, searching my gaze. But I couldn’t allow myself to believe it just

yet. If there was even the slightest scratch on her, I would never forgive myself.

“What happened?” I demanded.

“I just came out of the shower and was about to dress when he burst in,” she explained, her voice

trembling. The words tore through me-she had been vulnerable, exposed. Rage burned hot in my

veins at the thought that he might have seen her like that.

“Then what did you do?” I pressed, my anger barely controlled.

She let out a sigh. “I turned on him and charged, and now everything is a bloody mess.” Her gaze

swept the room where blood stained the sheets, the walls, the very floor, while Walton’s shallow

breaths filled the silence.

“Not in my pack,” my mother’s voice thundered, sharp and unforgiving. Both Aina and I turned to

her as she stepped forward with authority. “No one dares enter my pack and attempt such a thing.

Guards!” she barked, striding away.

“I’ve never seen your mom like that,” Aina whispered. If only she knew-my mother was fierce, but I

was far worse.

I stepped closer to Walton. His weak eyes locked with mine and instantly filled with terror. That

was when I noticed the long, deep claw mark tearing across his chest-the unmistakable strike of

Aina’s wolf.

Leaning over him, my voice dropped to a deadly edge. “If you don’t want your family to suffer the

same fate as you, tell me who sent you.”

He shook, his body trembling violently as tears streamed down his face.

“Tell me!” I roared, my fists clenched, my voice vibrating with fury.

“A… Alpha Hamilton,” he croaked, and my whole body stilled.

Not Bella. Hamilton.

Even Aina gasped at the name.

“Tell me-did he also send you to tamper with my car?” I asked, my words sharp.

He nodded, too weak to speak.

Cla

“So it wasn’t Bella… but her father?” I asked again, forcing the truth from his mouth. Another nod.

I rose to my full height, my rage seething, then turned back to Aina. “Did he see your nakedness?”

Her eyes widened, shame flickering across them before she gave a reluctant nod. The fury inside me erupted. Without a second thought, I went back to Walton.

“Don’t kill him!” Aina cried from behind me. “Who will testify if you do?”

But her words didn’t reach me. My claws ripped straight into his chest, tearing out his heart in one brutal strike. He died with his eyes wide open, and I let his heart fall to the floor with a wet thud. My voice came out low, burning with wrath. “It doesn’t matter.”

The sound of footsteps echoed closer. Guards. I turned quickly to Aina. “Go to the bathroom. Lock

the door.”

She obeyed instantly, running into the bathroom and shutting the door behind her.

Moments later, my mother returned with several guards. She froze when her eyes fell on Walton’s lifeless body. “You killed him?” she asked in disbelief.

“He saw something he shouldn’t have,” I answered flatly, not bothering to explain further.

“Can you guess who sent him?” I asked then, my voice cold.

My mother didn’t reply as the guards lifted Walton’s corpse and carried it out. She shook her head slowly, clearly still stunned.

“It was your husband’s best friend-the one who pretends to be loyal,” I spat. “Hamilton.”

She drew back in shock. “What? I thought it was Bella!”

\ “I thought so too,” I muttered, shaking my head. But it wasn’t her. It was Hamilton.

Would he really dare strike at me just because I threatened him? Would he go this far?

I turned sharply then and caught sight of my father standing at the door, his expression thunderous. He had clearly overheard everything.

“Did you just say Hamilton did this?” he asked, his voice barely containing the fury boiling beneath.

Chapter 65

“That’s what Walton confessed. He wouldn’t have lied in that state,” I answered firmly.

Clam

Without another word, my father stormed out of the room, my mother following close behind.

The maids came in soon after, hurrying to clean the blood-soaked mess. I didn’t wait. I went straight to the bathroom door. Aina opened it immediately, as though she had been standing there, waiting for me.

I stepped inside and locked the door behind me, pulling her into my arms. I pressed a kiss against, her head. “We smell of blood. We should wash,” she suggested.

She nodded. “I’m sorry you had to see me do that,” I said quietly.

She shook her head firmly. “No… it’s me,I am actually shaken with what I did. What I did was

instinct. I didn’t even think. I just acted” Her voice trembled as she admitted it, and indeed she was
