NATALIE

Samuel’s facial features were flawless as if they were carved out by God himself. Combined with his strong and imposing aura, it was clear to me that he was a person that most people would find hard to ignore.

This could be a problem, I mean he was right behind me.

But then I quickly remember that all the times I met Samuel, I was wearing that hyper–realistic mask and looked completely different from now. Besides, I’m already shielded by my sunglasses, face mask, and cap. There’s no way he’ll recognize me, right?

I could feel his gaze on me but I didn’t look up, I continued to tap my fingers rhythmically on the counter and kept my gaze under the sunglasses steady.

As soon as I retrieved my coffee, I turned to leave the establishment. But to my utter dismay, the rain had only gotten heavier by the time I got to the door.

There’s no way that I’m going in that rain, I mean it’s not like I took my car and there’s on way a taxi is going to let me in their car soaked. I had to stay in here, so I found an inconspicuous seat in the corner of the cafe and sat down.

It was then that my phone began vibrating inside my bag.

I took out my phone and it was a number that I didn’t recognise but still I picked up the call. Franklin’s haughty yet adorable voice rang out the moment I picked up the call.

“Hi my woman. He greeted me and it took everything in me not to burst out laughing in the cafe. It was clear that he didn’t heed his fathers warnings.

“Franklin, how did you get my number?” I ask him.

“I got it from my daddy.” He says.

“I highly doubt that your father gave you my number Franklin.” I tell him.

He let’s out a sigh, like I’m stressing him out. “I didn’t say that he gave it to me, I said that I got it from him.” He says like that should clarify things for me.

“Look, woman, the other time, my daddy got between our time together. He wasn’t really picking on you. In truth, he’s a misogynist. When a woman gets close to him, he becomes very temperamental.”

I was rendered speechless, what school did this boy go to? I mean the words that he’s using.

Plus, he chose a very bad time to call me to complain about his father. Why did he choose a time when his father is in the same cafe as me? If I put him on speaker right now, Samuel will definitely punish him badly at home and he’ll also realise that I’m the one under the glasses and the mask. So him finding out is no good for the both of us.

“Why are you not speaking? Have you forgotten who I am?” He asks and he sounds sad and also angry at the same time. He’s a complete contrast from his twin sister Sophia.

“How’s that possible? You’re Franklin.”

“Why aren’t you calling me Mr. Franklin?” he boy questioned.

“Do you want me to call you Mr. Franklin?”

“Everyone else has to call me Mr. Franklin, but you don’t have to. I will only give you this privilege. Other women can only dream about it,” Franklin stated fiercely.

I almost burst out laughing.

By the goddess, Indeed, he is Samuel’s son. He totally inherited his father’s domineering personality and I guess it’s a good thing too as he is his father’s heir and the next Alpha.

“The reason why I called you today is not just to apologize on behalf of my difficult daddy. It’s mainly because Sophia misses you. Can you speak with her? She’s right here.” He tells me.

I could not stop smiling when I thought of the adorable Sophia.

However, I wasn’t expecting this and the fact that I couldn’t see her facial expressions. I still did not know what to say after racking my brain, so I could only say what I usually told Xavier and Clayton.

“Hi Sophia, it’s your friend from the airport. I hope you recognise my voice because I know you can’t see me. I hope you are being a good girl and you’re listening to your dad and your uncle. Do not use electronic devices for too long as it harms your eyes. Remember to take breaks in between when you use them. Drink lots of milk and eat lots of eggs. You can’t only eat meat because you dislike vegetables. Brush your teeth well. Don’t eat too many sweets before bed, or your teeth will rot.”

I paused for a moment to think before adding, “If you miss me, you can call me yourself. You don’t have to call me through your brother. If you tap the phone thrice, I will know that it’s you who called me.”

I wasn’t a very sympathetic person, but it was a different case when it came to Franklin and

My adoration for them was comparable to what I felt for Clayton and Xavier, so much so that it even suprised me.

A warm and fuzzy feeling swept over me after speaking to them on the phone.

However, just when I was about to take a sip of my coffee, a large and rough hand grabbed my wrist, pulling me right out of my seat.

My heart skipped a beat upon meeting the man’s sullen gaze.

Samuel?

I could feel his icy and emotionless gaze on me even through the sunglasses.

“Who were you talking to?” he asked, staring down at me.

There’s no way he could have heard my conversation with Franklin and Sophia. “I was talking to my children. What’s wrong?”

Does he recognise me?

“Why are you here?”

Startled and confused by his question, I did not even notice that he had removed my luscious long hair had cascaded down in waves.
