Chapter 69
NATALIE.
Why were they here? Don’t get me wrong, I loved seeing the kids but not their father, I mean it’s like I’ve seen him everyday this week and I need space from him.
Space to figure out how I feel and why anytime I’m around him, I’m always reminded of that night six years ago.
I need space because whenever I’m around him, I can’t seem to think.
Like now, where all I can do is admire how he looks in his suit.
I would love to see him in his birthday suit. Laila purrs in my ear and it takes everything in me not to burst out in embarrassment.
I mean you could tell that the suit was tailored to him and with the type of phusique that he had, he wore the hell out of the suit. Now I completely uunderstood what the kids meant when they said their teachers would be all over him. But for some reason the thought of that made me angry.
Moreover, he had a tall figure and exquisite facial features. His attractiveness was out of this world.
“Good morning, Miss Edmund.” He said with a faint, happy glow in his eyes.
“Good morning Alpha Bowers.” I nodded lightly. However, my heart churned slightly at the thought of Samuel coming along.
“I thought you’re busy?” I asked, lifting my eyebrows.
“I am busy. However, I still have time to spare for Franklin and Sophia.” He said and he was clearly in a good mood.
Sophia and Franklin looked at each other, surprise written all over their faces.
Sophia glared at her father and shook her head, it was clear to me that she was trying to say something.
“What’s that Sophia?” I asked her in a calm voice.
“Work….. Daddy work.” She says as she points to her father, I’m so proud of her for talking but I am confused as to what she meant and when I look up at Samuel, I expect him to have that

stern look on his face but he doesn’t.
Instead he’s looking down at his daughter and you can see the emotions in his eyes.
“Sophia.” He softly calls her name.
She looks up at him and gives him a big smile and she says it again. “Daddy work.” She says it more loudly this time.
“I’m daddy?” Samuel asks as he points to himself and she nods her head very enthusiastically.
Immediately I realise what’s happening here, in her five years of life, Sophia has never spoken which means that she has never called him daddy. Tears well up in my eyes as I realise what a huge moment this is.
Samuel let’s out a loud laugh, I have never heard him laugh before and then he scoops Sophia up and he carries her and she just smiles at him.
He turns to look at me and he mouths thank you and I nod my head at him.
“Good job Sophia.” Franklin tells his sister and then he adds. “What Sophia was trying to say is that daddy didn’t have to attend today. Last night, he didn’t…”
It was clear the little boy was about to reveal a secret but he stopped abruptly when he saw his father’s stern eyes.
“Hmm? What happened last night?” I asked.
Franklin dared not say anything and shook his head. “Nothing. Let’s get going, or we’re going to be late for school.”
Despite my curiosity, I stopped asking as I did not want them to be late for today’s event.
After a thirty–minute drive, the car stopped in front of the kindergarten.
Franklin and Sophia, as members of the Bowers family, went to an elite kindergarten.
Countless luxurious cars were parked at the entrance of the kindergarten due to the special occasion.
“We’re here.” Franklin and Sophia hopped off the car with their school bags and stepped through the gate. Me and Samuel, on the other hand, walked in with the other parents.
Once we arrived at the registration desk, several female teachers who were wearing makeup smiled at them. “Mr. Bowers, it’s good to see you.”

“Hello. I am the dean of Starlight Kindergarten.”
“I am Starlight Kindergarten’s Leader of Academic Affairs.”
Not to mention Samuel’s good looks, his status alone as the Alpha of Blood Moon Pack and CEO of his company was already enough to make the teachers try to get on his good side.
The teachers pampered Franklin and Sophia, and now that their father was here, they had to give their best effort to butter him up.
Standing next to him I realised that I was right about my assumptions. The female teachers swarmed toward Samuel like bees surrounding honey.
In the middle of the commotion, somebody ran into me, causing her to stagger.
As a result, I twisted my right ankle. Enduring the pain, I flailed my arms around to find something I could hold onto as my legs gave way, but to no avail.
Just as I thought I was going to fall, someone supported my slender waist in the nick of time and pulled me back up.
The next thing I knew, my lips touched Samuel’s due to the force of how he pulled me up.
“Mmph!” Surprised, I opened her mouth, and my teeth grazed Samuel’s lips, instantly drawing
blood.
Everything was so unreal, but the blood on Samuel’s lips was too obvious to ignore.
“Are you all right?” Worried, I lifted my hand to examine Samuel’s wound, but as soon as my fingertips touched his lips, I pulled my hand back as if she was just electrocuted.
I’m the one who caused him to bleed, but it would be too weird if I touched his lips just like that.
Samuel squinted his eyes in disappointment when I withdrew my hand.
Samuel wiped the blood with his fingers and said, “Would you take full responsibility if I’m not okay?”
“Take full responsibility for what?”

Samuel lowered his voice and whispered, “Forget it. From now on, just stay by my side.”
I nodded my head.
Then, Samuel took my hand and marched forward.
“What are you…”
“It’s safer this way. You’re mine, so I will look after you wherever I go.” Samuel’s eyes shone brightly as he stared at me.
I was stunned. Since when did I become his?
Subconsciously, I tried to pull my hand away from his grasp.
However, he tightened his grip on my hand, like he was afraid I would run away from him.
Remind me again? When exactly did I agree to become his?
