The Alpha’s Nanny (Lori and Gabriel) novel Chapter 207

Chapter 207

“What have you heard about me Ivor.” She asked coyly.

“Oh I’ve heard a lot… and that’s saying something… particularly your falling out with Alpha Gabriel Caine of Moon Fang.”

Sabine raised her eyebrow. She wasn’t expecting him to know that, but somehow he did.

Ivor must have his ears planted to the ground at all times to be so up to date.

“Yes. We had a case with the Invito. Some land squabble.”

“I heard. He won.” Ivor commented and Sabine stiffened.

She relaxed after a while and shrugged.

“Oh well…you win some you lose some… but that’s not why I called you.”

“Then why did you call me?! Word on the streets is that you’ve been reaching out to as many alphas as you can… to give them some sort of warning.”

“Then you’d understand why I’m calling you…”

She and Ivor were not particularly close, but they were cordial, in the way work colleagues were.

Ivor had a nasty temperament and he was extremely paranoid, Sabine had stayed away from him because of that reason.

Now, it was the same reason she was calling him.

“No. I don’t. My pack and Moon Fang have been peaceful allies for years.”

“Even with the threat Gabriel poses?!”

Sabine asked. Pretending to sound concerned.

“And what threat is that?”

Sabine scoffed.

“Would you rather wait to find out at the alpha’s summit or would you like to know now?”

There was a brief silence as it seemed like Ivor was mulling over his choices.

“Out with it then.”

The old man grunted.

“Very well then. I have strong reasons to believe that Gabriel and his new nephilim mate who is to become his Luna are plotting against you and other

alphas.”

Chapter 207

There was a short silence before Ivor busted into a fit of laughter.

Sabine was stunned. She had not expected that kind of reaction.

“Are you mad Sabine?!”

He asked after a while, his voice still shaking with laughter.

Sabine shifted the phone away from her ear, mildly pissed at him.

“Ivor. You know I would not call you if it wasn’t the truth! I don’t lie and I wouldn’t be making this up for no reason.”

“Yea sureee…”

Ivor slurred and Sabine sighed.

“That woman killed at least thirty of my men. All strong able bodied werewolves! And then she tried to kill me too! And then she and Gabriel managed to

run me out of my territory!”

“Why do you think I’m in hiding now?”

There was a short silence.

“I’m only trying to warn you. If one nephilim could do that, imagine an army of them!”

“How do I know you’re speaking the truth? I haven’t even seen a goddamn nephilim in years.”

Sabine chuckled.

“Oh trust me you will soon. But if you don’t find a way to protect yourself now… I’m pretty sure Gabriel would come for you too.”

“Together… they’re unstoppable. They’ve been chasing me ever since and I’ve been in hiding. They even managed to kill my Beta.”

“Vara?!”

Ivor asked in mild surprise over the phone and Sabine nodded.

“Yes, Vara. I sent her on a mission to check if the coast was clear so I could come back home… but I’ve been cut off from her ever since…”

“I have already imagined the worse,”

There was another uncomfortable silence before Ivor cleared his throat.
