Chapter 219

The Alpha Summit
She had chosen correctly after all. A black satin dress, a low neckline covered with light mesh and rhinestone beading, it had a corseted bodice with a silver bone belt and the entire chest was covered in intricate tiny thinestones beading that caught the light. The satin and the mesh fabric worked perfectly together, the mesh making up the sleeves and parts of the skirt, while the satin holding the bodice.
The sleeves were long and light, almost like a cape, they were light and featherless, made of the soft black mesh material. The back of the dress was opened, just like Myra had advised, it was low enough to accommodate her wings and the skirt of the dress was full and heavy.
Lori liked the way the dress made her feel. Ethereal, unreal and magical. The dress looked better in the day but it shone best when worn at night.
At night, it reminded her of the night sky, glittering and starry. Even though she was nervous, something about the dress had boosted her confidence way more than she thought it would.
Her hair and makeup had been taken care of by a stylist. The woman and Myra argued about her hairstyle for a whole. Myra wanted her hair up and the woman wanted her hair down, Lori had to settle for half and half to placate them. Her hair was done half up and half down, the first of it it held by a glittering silver headpiece, while the rest cascaded like a pool of ink down her back.
They had dusted her hair lightly with silver powdery glitter, to give that same shimmery effect her gown had.
Her makeup was light, more of her appeal was on her dress, she didn’t have to do too much for makeup. Her eyes were ringed with the blackest of ink, furthermore accentuating her hazel eyes, her cheeks dusted with the tiniest hint of rouge and her lips lined and glossed over with lipgloss.
There was really no need for accessories, the dress spoke well enough on its own but Gabriel had taken it upon himself to gift her diamond earrings for the
occasion and Lori found herself itching to wear them.
They were perfect. Oval shaped and large, they were quite hard to miss and Lori admired them more on her ears.
Everything was ready, she was ready. She had slipped on comfortable pair of heels, since Myra her she would be standing for a while, besides her dress was
long enough and would cover her heels.
Finally she was ready and Myra went over the basics with her again.
Etiquette, rules, advice and tips to deal around alphas. The more mysterious you are the better, Nyra had warned.
Do not reveal anything about yourself to them. Keep your answers short, sweet and slightly vague.
It was at that moment Gabriel emerged from the room wearing a black tuxedo. Lori had seen him earlier but seeing him again had her chest doing flip flops. She smiled at him and he smiled at her. His eyes solely on her.
They had been communicating all day in their minds. As if Gabriel could sense her fear, he had tried to calm her down several times by attempting to tell funny jokes through their mind link.
Most of his jokes weren’t funny but she had laughed anyways. She remembered when she first laughed and Myra had been confused when she was helping her with her dress, luckily she quickly caught on.
‘You will be the most beautiful Luna at the Summit tonight.”
He declared and Lori’s cheek reddened.
