Chapter 233

‘How was it?!”

Draco asked as they walked into the living room. The ride home had been long and exhausting and Lori had dozed off a few times. Eventually she was grateful when they finally got home. She wanted nothing more than to soak in a long hot bath and then go to bed.

She barely sat down before she started tugging at her heels. Gabriel knelt to help her remove them.

“It was awful.”

Lori answered honestly.

Draco glanced at the both of them. He looked like he didn’t believe them.

“What happened?!”

The two of them exchanged glances.

“Truly horrible.” She added.

Gabriel stood up and sighed.

*Sabine came.”

Just those two words were enough to make Draco freeze.

“No way.”

He muttered.

Lori nodded.

‘Oh she did.”

‘And you let her go?!”

Gabriel nodded.

‘I had no choice but to. She’s allied with Kate’s father, there was at least a hundred people there… we couldn’t find a proper way to corner her.`

“You could have called me.’

Draco sighed and Gabriel shook his head.

“Your main priority was Emilia. To watch over her and keep her safe, I couldn’t let you abandon one mission for the other.”

Lori massaged her feet with her hands, Emilia must be asleep already. She wasn’t planning on waking her, she herself was too tired. But she wanted a bath.

Any clue as to where she is?”

I believe she should still be in town. With George backing her she’ll probably be moving around with a hell of security. Won’t be hard to miss…”

“Why would Caddel do that?’

Draco asked and Lori sighed.

“I think his daughter might have put him up to it. Kate told me she wanted to take revenge ever since I slapped her at Gabriel’s funeral.’

Gabriel scoffed.

“Pathetic. She’s pathetic.”

‘They attacked Lori. Tried to make her go on some sort of killing rampage. It didn’t work…”

“They wanted to turn the alphas against you?”

Gabriel nodded.

“Basically. Judging by how Sabine ran out of the Summit when Lori came back normalp, we must have thwarted her plans.”

Draco nodded.

‘Our only priority now is finding her. And Lori’s son. She can’t hide for too long.”

She can’t. She must have grown tired of all this. Running from state to state… she’s bound to slip up.”

‘Hopefully soon.”

Lori commented and Gabriel gave her a reassuring look.

After a short silence Gabriel stretched out his hand towards Lori and pulled her from the sofa.

“We’re tired. We’d like to go to bed.”

Draco nodded.

‘Of course, I guess I’ll be on my way then… the guards will keep watch at the lobby.”

“Thank you for everything Draco.”

Gabriel’s voice was honest. Raw,

He truly meant it.

‘Goodnight Draco,’

Lori called out and Draco nodded.

Gabriel saw Draco to the door while Lori went to check up on Emilia.
