The Alpha’s Nanny (Lori and Gabriel) novel Chapter 235

Chapter 235

She had half expected Siobhan to clean it up, but clearly the witch thought too little of her and was overconfident in her spells and potions.

They wore off faster than they were supposed to.

She thought picking the metal was the hard part, but picking the lock turned frustrating. She could barely see the lock in the position she was in. She was tied to the chair, with her hands cuffed to her back. The chair, the lack of sight… it made it all the more harder and strenuous to pick the lock.

She had almost given up countless times… half expecting Siobhan to walk in and catch her in the middle of escaping.

But she was surprised when the lock clicked open and she broke free.

Quickly, she worked on the locks on her feet, then untied the ropes that bound her to the chair.

With the dark objects gone, she felt her powers burst fully. Like the morning sun.

She pocketed the dark objects. Not caring for how their close proximity might threaten to dampen her powers again.

She was going to dispose of them. Without it they wouldn’t have been able to capture her, or do everything they had done to her.

So far Siobhan only seemed to have two.

Good. She would throw it away.

She tiptoed to the only door and pressed her ear to it. She could hear no voices, but opening the door was a risk she wasn’t willing to take.

She would be weak for a few more minutes, she was in no position for a fight, with werewolves or even the witch.

She had to find another way.

She looked around and saw a window. It had been covered heavily with drapes, plunging the room into a dim darkness.

Astra drew the drapes, opening the window and finding that the apartment was at Keats thirty feet from the ground. She could survive the jump, so that was

not a problem.

The alley looked quiet too.

With one hand… she forced open the window and quickly elevated herself outside.

Astra took one last look at the room before jumping towards the cold hard concrete floor.

Her landing was perfect. But the pain rocked through her body, it took at least three full minutes for the pain to leave.

She was barefooted, somewhere along the line she must have lost her shoes. Or they took it off… she couldn’t tell.

She didn’t waste any time in running.

As fast as she could and as far away as she would.

Chapter 235

CIRA

There was one person she wanted to see before she disappeared forever.

She owed it to Lori. To at least try and save the nephilim child in Sabine’s grasp.

She had not seen him all the while she was captured, but the way Sabine had talked about him… it didn’t sound good.

Sabine was selfish and cruel… and from the little she had observed, she wasn’t only keeping the child to spite Lori.

Who knows what she could be doing to him?!

She could be using his blood to heal herself and her wolves, or even worse, performing experiments on him with the witch Siobhan around.

It sickened her to even think about it.

And there was only one person who could do that.
